Modena, ITA – May 13, 2025From May 24 to 25, Maserati will be the leading light on Lake Como with the GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema. This will be the first time these star cars have taken part in FuoriConcorso, a prestigious automotive event held annually since 2019 at the historic residences of Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota, attracting thousands of collectors, experts, car enthusiasts, and fans of ‘beauty.’

Every year, the event highlights a different aspect of automotive history and creativity with a line-up of customized, iconic, rare, and unreleased cars and prototypes.

The theme this year is “Velocissimo – Italian Race Cars,” an evocative tribute to the most representative racing cars that have made motorsport history.

The two Trident cars on display fit in perfectly: the new GT2 Stradale and the exclusive MCXtrema, both serving as the epitome of the brand’s DNA.

While FuoriConcorso stands out for its refined atmosphere and display of iconic, rare cars often never seen before – from both private collections and prestigious car manufacturers – Maserati finds its natural environment here to present two extraordinary creations that strike the right balance between elegance and limitless performance.

The new GT2 Stradale, on show in the refined “Bianco Audace” livery created by Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, represents an evolution of sportiness meant not solely for the track. Created as the road-legal version of the GT2 race car that took the House of the Trident back to racing and victory in closed-wheel championships, GT2 Stradale is a mixture of the two iconic worlds of Maserati, those of elegance and racing. It embodies the brand’s racing spirit and at the same time offers comfort and driving pleasure for everyday use. With an output of 631 hp, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph, the GT2 Stradale also stands out for its weight, reduced by 132 lbs compared to the MC20. Courtesy of the extraordinary V6 Nettuno engine, which can achieve 621 hp in the MC20 configuration, the GT2 Stradale is the most powerful road-going Maserati with an internal combustion engine.

Alongside GT2 Stradale, a Maserati MCXtrema is on show with all the expressive power of its classic “Blu Extrema” livery. Not type-approved to be driven on the road, the car is designed for the most discerning of collectors and gentleman drivers seeking the utmost exhilaration on the track. Produced in a limited edition of only 62 units, the MCXtrema is a racing ‘beast’ thanks to the sheer power of its formidable 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine – derived from the Nettuno and in this case pushed to the limit – that can deliver 730 hp.

The car on display at Villa Sucota is a unique and distinctive manifestation of the pinnacle of Maserati performance, a creative combination of mechanical mastery, technical cleanliness, irresistible beauty, competitive grit, and refined aerodynamics.

Two cars, two spirits, the GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema, but only one Trident. By taking part in FuoriConcorso 2025, Maserati celebrates its vision of luxury, innovation, and passion for driving in a unique setting, where art, beauty, and engines come together.

Maserati S.p.A.
Maserati produces a complete range of unique cars, immediately recognizable for their extraordinary personality. Thanks to their style, technology, and innately exclusive character, they delight the most discerning, demanding tastes and have always been a benchmark for the global automotive industry. A tradition of successful cars, each of them redefining what makes an Italian sports car in terms of design, performance, comfort, elegance, and safety, currently available in more than 70 markets internationally.

Maserati line-up includes the Grecale, the “everyday exceptional” SUV, the GranTurismo, the iconic Italian grand tourer, and the GranCabrio, the new convertible of the Trident; all models characterized by the use of the highest quality materials and excellent technical solutions. A range equipped with 4-cylinder hybrid powertrains – available for Grecale – and V6 petrol, with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive, embodying the performance DNA of the Trident brand. The top of the range is made up of the MC20 super sports car and the MC20 Cielo spyder, powered by the ground-breaking 100% Maserati Nettuno V6 engine, which incorporates F1-derived technologies into the power unit of a standard production car for the first time. The GranTurismo is available with both the high-performance V6 petrol engine, derived from the Nettuno, and a 100% electric version: the GranTurismo Folgore, the first car in the Modena-based brand’s history to adopt this solution. The full-electric range also currently includes the Grecale Folgore, Maserati’s first 100% electric SUV, and the GranCabrio Folgore. Finally, the House of the Trident's latest addition is the Maserati GT2 Stradale, the road-legal version of the GT2 that took Maserati back to the track in closed-wheel championships. The heart of the new super sports car is the V6 Nettuno engine, reaching 640 hp (471 kW) in the latter configuration. The GT2 Stradale is therefore the most powerful road-going Maserati with an internal combustion engine.

The mission at Maserati is to write the future of mobility in the luxury segment, focusing on its customers’ requests. The Brand, in line with the Stellantis “Dare Forward 2030” strategic plan, is now taking Italian luxury all over the world.
