Geneva, 5th March 2013 - The famed Italian skipper Giovanni Soldini was the guest of honor at the Maserati stand of the Geneva Auto Show to witness the European premiere of the new Maserati Quattroporte.
Said Maserati CEO Harald Wester: Here with us today is Giovanni Soldini, the skipper of Maserati a man who, like our cars, stands out in todays world. This hi-tech boat, with Giovanni at the helm, just clinched an extraordinary new world record in the open seas by covering the distance between New York City and San Francisco, through Cape Horn and around the Americas, in just 47 days, 42 minutes and 29 seconds. The legendary Golden Route now belongs to this brave Italian sailor and to Maserati!
If, on the one hand, Wester went on, we are naturally proud to partner with Giovanni Soldini, on the other we wish to thank him for all he has done to prove to the whole world what capable and determined men in combination with sophisticated and reliable machines can achieve
which, when one comes to think about it, is precisely what you see reflected in the 99 year-long history of Maserati and its future.
