The fifth and final round of the European FIA GT3 championship got underway today (Saturday 16 September) with the two qualifying sessions. The scene was the tricky circuit of Mugello, in Tuscany. Unlike yesterday's free practice, the first officially qualifying stint was run on a wet track. In these difficult conditions the AF Corse Maserati GranSport Lights set top times of 2'19"964 and 2'21"675. Roberto Sperati will thus start from fifth on row 11 in race 1. Behind him will be Andrea Demegni on the sixteenth row.
