Luton – The award-winning Vauxhall Vivaro-e remains the UK’s best-selling electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV), according to the latest registration figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The Vivaro-e was the best-selling e-LCV in May with 212 models sold, and remains the UK’s best-selling electric van with 1,424 sold in the first five months of the year.
Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “The Vivaro-e continues to be the go-to choice for fleets and businesses requiring an efficient and capable zero-emissions-in-use van. The e-LCV sector is a vital and growing sector for the industry as businesses look to reduce overheads and emissions, and it’s fantastic to see the Vauxhall Vivaro-e remain popular with those making the switch to electric.”
The Vivaro-e has a long list of awards under its belt, including ‘Medium Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2022 and ‘Best Medium Electric Van’ at the Driving Electric Awards 2022. The Vivaro-e was also voted ‘International Van of the Year 2021’.
With a WLTP range of up to 205 miles and a maximum payload of up to 1,226kg, the Vivaro-e is at the forefront of Vauxhall’s commitment to electrification, as the brand continues its electric vehicle expansion with the goal of offering an electrified variant across its entire model line-up by 2024, and to offer only fully electric cars and vans in the UK by 2028.
Last year, Stellantis announced a £100 million investment in Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing plant to transform the site for a new era in electric vehicle manufacturing.
Ellesmere Port will become the first Stellantis plant to produce a solely battery-electric model, in both commercial and passenger versions, by the end of this year, including the Combo-e and Combo-e Life, for both domestic and export markets.

ABOUT VAUXHALL MOTORS
Vauxhall Motors started making vehicles in the UK in 1903. Today, as the oldest and most familiar of Britain’s automotive manufacturers, its philosophy is to build vehicles that are relevant to all. Vauxhall’s two manufacturing plants in Ellesmere Port and Luton produced 120,000 cars and vans in 2019, and its sales accounted for 7.5 per cent of the UK market.
Vauxhall is part of Stellantis NV, a global leader created for the new era of sustainable mobility as a result of the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA Group in January 2021. Vauxhall is a leader in electrification – as of 2021 it is one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans. By 2024, all Vauxhall cars and vans will be available with an electrified version. By 2028, Vauxhall has committed to only selling fully electric vehicles. Info: www.vauxhall.co.uk
