Vauxhall has announced it will be partnering with Mobility in Motion, a UK specialist in vehicle adaptations and accessible mobility solutions, to support its Adapt & Drive initiative to make adapted vehicle ownership easier, more flexible and accessible to all.
Research conducted by Mobility in Motion found that disabled and limited mobility drivers and passengers who required vehicle adaptations, either currently or previously, highlighted the complexity of adaptations for their existing car, having to navigate different providers, and there not being one company available to support them through the vehicle purchase and adaptation journey.
The Adapt & Drive scheme, which launches on the 2nd February at selected UK dealers*, has been designed to offer drivers more choice and freedom with flexible payment options to suit their needs for adapted vehicles that eliminate the pain points previously highlighted.
Vauxhall, which is committed to accessible mobility, is one of the first leading automotive partners to support the scheme and will offer a range of vehicles and specialist adaptation insights for the Adapt & Drive car purchase plan.
Eurig Druce, Vauxhall Managing Director & Stellantis UK Group Managing Director, said: “At Vauxhall, the importance of accessibility and mobility for all is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that all drivers, especially those with disabilities, have seamless and affordable access to vehicles that can adapt to meet their needs. We are proud to be supporting Mobility in Motion and its Adapt & Drive initiative; this new approach to adapted vehicle ownership will provide greater ease, independence and freedom for those who require it most.”
Matt Fieldhouse, Group Managing Director at Mobility in Motion, said: “We’re really proud to be working with Vauxhall on Adapt & Drive. For too long, owning a new adapted vehicle has felt out of reach or overly complex for many people. By combining our expert knowledge of adaptations with Vauxhall’s vehicle range, we are creating a new, joined-up approach that brings ownership of both the car and its adaptations together, opening this up to a much wider audience and making the entire experience simpler and more accessible. It’s an exciting move towards a more inclusive and practical approach to mobility, ultimately giving people the freedom to travel on their own terms.”
Vauxhall makes a strong partner to Mobility in Motion thanks to its experience and understanding of the accessible mobility market. The brand is a leading supplier of electric vehicles to established schemes such as Motability and, through its Electric Streets of Britain initiative, is a vocal campaigner for removing barriers for Britain’s disabled motorists wishing to switch to EVs through accessible and adapted public chargers.

ABOUT VAUXHALL MOTORS
Vauxhall Motors started making cars in the UK in 1903. Today, as the oldest and most familiar of Britain’s automotive manufacturers, its philosophy is to build vehicles that are relevant to all and offer design, high levels of equipment and technology, and electrification at an attainable level. Vauxhall is one of few automotive brands to produce electric vehicles in Britain at its manufacturing plant in Ellesmere Port – the UK’s first electric-only manufacturing plant where the Combo Electric van is made. Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain campaign raises the profile of the need for more on-street electric vehicle charging so that everyone can benefit from the switch to electric. Vauxhall is part of Stellantis NV, a global leader created for the new era of sustainable mobility as a result of the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA Group in January 2021. Vauxhall is a leader in electrification – as of 2021, it was one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans. Since the end of 2024, Vauxhall has offered a fully electric version of every model in its car and van line-up. Info: www.vauxhall.co.uk
