The Vauxhall Corsa has been awarded the ‘Best Used Small Car’ title at the Carbuyer Best Used Car Awards for the second year running.

All the contenders for the Best Used Car Awards were evaluated on their performance in key areas by Carbuyer’s team of experts, with judges praising the Corsa for its practicality, low running costs and driving dynamics.

Richard Ingram, Editor, Carbuyer, said: “It’s no secret that we have a lot of time for the Vauxhall Corsa at Carbuyer. Last year's overall Best Used Car offers buyers so much choice and value, and is still a top pick for 2024. Thanks to the fact it has sold in such substantial numbers when new, there’s always a plentiful supply of Vauxhall’s supermini on the market. Whether you want petrol, diesel or electric, every version delivers in terms of practicality, running costs and a good driving experience.”

James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Whether as a new or used car, this award is testament to the Corsa’s enduring appeal for more than 40 years, which has seen it establish itself as one of Britain’s best-selling cars. Available as a fully electric car since 2020 alongside efficient petrol engines, new and user buyers alike will find a powertrain to suit their needs.”

The Vauxhall Corsa is the UK’s best-selling supermini year-to-date and was the UK’s best-selling car overall in 2021. Last year, the model celebrated its 40th anniversary, with more than 2.8 million sold since the first Corsa (badged Nova in the UK) was revealed in 1982.

The New Corsa is available with a choice of two fully electric powertrains as well as highly efficient petrol engines. The Corsa Electric features a 50kWh battery and a 136PS electric motor providing a range of up to 222 miles (WLTP), while the Corsa Electric Long Range benefits from a next-generation 51kWh battery and 156PS electric motor for a range of 246 miles (WLTP).

Vauxhall is one of few mainstream automotive brands to produce vans in Britain at its manufacturing plants in Luton, home of the Vivaro, and Ellesmere Port, the UK’s first EV-only manufacturing plant. Vauxhall has been the UK’s best-selling electric light commercial vehicle manufacturer since 2021, while among its passenger car line-up, the Vauxhall Corsa was the UK’s best-selling new car in 2021.

Vauxhall is part of Stellantis NV, a global leader created for the new era of sustainable mobility as a result of the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA Group in January 2021. Vauxhall is a leader in electrification – as of 2021 it is one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans.  From 2024, all Vauxhall cars and vans will be available with a fully electric version.
