New Jeep® Compass Press Kit
JEEP® COMPASS DESIGN, INTERIOR, TECHNOLOGY, POWERTRAINS, AND PRICING
Introducing the new Jeep® Compass, a compact SUV built to embody the hallmark capabilities of the Jeep brand. Combining ruggedness, versatility and a distinctive attitude, the Compass range blends authentic off-road capability with state-of-the-art technology.
Since its launch in 2006, the Jeep Compass has become a global success story, with more than 2.5 million units sold worldwide. The latest generation has been developed through the collaboration of global design and engineering teams across Europe and the United States, bringing together international expertise to create a model that reflects the brand’s evolving vision.
The new Compass stands as a bold and unmistakable statement, showcasing a design that captures the essence of Jeep’s legendary heritage while embracing modern innovation. Compass is instantly recognisable with its iconic boxy silhouette, yet it achieves the status as the most aerodynamic Jeep ever produced.
Designed from the ground up with electrification in mind, the new Compass is built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, an advanced architecture specifically developed to support electrified vehicles in the C and D segments.
This forward-thinking platform delivers exceptional driving range, rapid charging capabilities, optimal efficiency and strong performance. The new Jeep Compass introduces greater flexibility and sustainability with two electrified powertrain options.
For the first time, the Compass is available with a fully electric variant, alongside a 48V e-Hybrid alternative to provide customers with more choice and freedom.
The fully electric Compass delivers a compelling combination of performance and range. Powered by a 74kWh battery and electric motor, it produces 213hp and 345Nm of torque, enabling it to travel up to 310 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
The e-Hybrid variant combines a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with a 21kW electric motor, producing a combined 145hp. The system enables smooth and efficient driving, with the ability to operate in all-electric mode at low speeds without the need for external charging.
Engineered to perform in challenging environments, the rugged SUV incorporates features such as high ground clearance, raised chassis dimensions and intelligent traction drive modes to continue Jeep’s DNA of legendary off-road capability. These characteristics ensure the vehicle can confidently tackle a wide range of terrains while maintaining comfort and practicality perfectly suited to everyday use.
The new Jeep Compass is available in two trim levels – Altitude and First Edition. Both variants are offered with a choice of e-Hybrid or fully electric powertrains.
Pricing for the Compass range starts from £34,520 for the Altitude, while the First Edition is available from £35,720.
Exterior
True Jeep design blends modern style with functionality, creating a bold and iconic appearance defined by its strong and recognisable architectonic shape.
Measuring 4.55 metres in length, 1.9 metres in width and 1.7 metres in height, the new Compass combines aerodynamic efficiency with muscular proportions. The result is a commanding presence that feels equally at home on city streets and rugged trails.
Perfectly suited to outdoor adventures yet equally capable in urban environments, Compass delivers versatility, advanced technology and an enhanced level of safety. Its design has been carefully developed to provide both improved performance and unmistakable style.
True to Jeep’s legacy, signature design elements have been seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s exterior. Features such as the iconic seven-slot grille (illuminated on First Edition trim), trapezoidal wheel arches and rugged protective cladding honour the brand’s heritage while ensuring the Compass retains its distinctive appearance and renowned off-road capability.
Suspension has been carefully tuned with dedicated springs, dampers and an anti-roll bar to provide a balanced combination of handling precision and ride comfort.
The capabilities of the new Compass extend across the entire range, including front-wheel-drive versions which can tackle off-road conditions.
With ground clearance of up to 200mm, an approach angle of 20 degrees, breakover angle of 15 degrees, and departure angle of 26 degrees, the vehicle is engineered to confidently overcome challenging terrain. Water fording capability reaches up to 470mm on fully electric models and 408mm on e-Hybrid variants, further demonstrating its ability to perform in demanding environments.
Durability is enhanced with an anti-scratch modular Jeep shield and reinforced bumpers, designed to provide additional protection in both urban and off-road settings. To further ensure optimal protection for key systems, the vehicle’s radar has been repositioned to minimise the risk of damage when manoeuvring in tight spaces or encountering obstacles.
All versions of Compass are equipped with Selec-Terrain, Jeep’s advanced traction management system designed to optimise performance in a variety of conditions. The system offers five drive modes – Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud and Rock – and comes as standard across the range.
Across Altitude and First Edition models, both the e-Hybrid and full electric trim levels of the Compass are equipped with premium alloy wheels. Reflecting the vehicle’s rugged character, the e-Hybrid versions feature 18-inch gloss grey alloy wheels, while the fully electric variant is fitted with 20-inch black alloy wheels with a machine-faced finish.
Across the range, the Compass is available in six exterior colours. Hawaii (Green) is offered as the standard finish, while customers can also choose Antarctica (White), Vulcano (Black), Pacific (Blue), Yosemite (Grey), and Amazonia (Green) as optional colours. A black roof is available as an additional option to create a bi-colour body effect.
Aerodynamic efficiency
The new Compass is the most aerodynamic Jeep ever created, with a range of carefully engineered design features that work together to optimise airflow and improve overall efficiency.
A fully flat underbody, largely invisible to the naked eye, plays a crucial role in managing airflow beneath the vehicle while also providing additional protection in off-road environments. Active Grille Shutters (AGS) are seamlessly integrated into the front bumper and help reduce drag by almost two points at higher speeds, automatically closing when additional cooling is not required.
Further aerodynamic improvements come from aero-optimised wheels, which combine rugged Jeep styling with improved airflow management to enhance both efficiency and vehicle stance. At the rear, a series of aerodynamic refinements contribute to smoother airflow, including sharp trailing edges, holders on the quarter glass, a high-efficiency roof spoiler, and functional air curtains within the rear wheel arches.
Together, these features deliver a 10% improvement in the coefficient of drag (Cx), achieving a class-leading value of less than 0.29.
These aerodynamic advancements play an important role in supporting the vehicle’s electrified powertrains. By improving airflow efficiency, they contribute to increased electric driving range, reduced energy consumption and enhanced driving stability.
Interior
Beyond its off-road prowess, Compass offers a large interior space and remarkable versatility, while remaining one of the most compact vehicles manufactured from STLA Medium Platform. Compass presents proportions suited for convenience inside and out. It provides 55mm of additional legroom, a 34-litre front interior storage compartment, and a boot capacity of 550 litres. The 40/20/40 rear seat split, standard across all versions, allows for ultimate flexibility, making it as functional for passengers as it is for cargo.
Designed with adventure in mind, the Compass seating is clad in hard wearing cloth and vinyl fabric (fully vinyl no cost option for First Edition trim), with further comfort features offered as standard through heated seats and steering wheel, and cabin enhancing ambient lighting. A dual-pane sunroof is offered as an optional extra.
Technology within the cockpit contributes to an entertaining and connected driving experience, while advanced safety features offer peace of mind and assistance in all scenarios.
Drivers can take advantage of a 10-inch instrument cluster displaying vital driving information, while a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system centrally located in the dashboard offers easy access to media and vehicle functions. Connected services ensure that the vehicle will always be up-to-date, receiving over-the-air (OTA) updates throughout its life.
Level 2 autonomous driving also ensures safety for customers on longer journeys or in congested urban areas. All these features are standard across the entire line-up. The driving experience is further improved with head-up display, semi-automatic lane change and matrix LED headlamps.
Powertrains
Built to embody the legendary strength and spirit of the brand while leading a new chapter in sustainable mobility Compass comes in two electrified powertrain options – fully electric or a 48V e-Hybrid.
For the first time on a Jeep Compass a fully electric powertrain is available. A 74kWh (79.8kWh gross) Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt battery coupled with an electric motor produces a 213hp electric power output, 345Nm of torque, and up to 310 miles of range based on the WLTP combined cycle. Performance from the front wheel drive system presents a 0-62mph acceleration time of 6.5 seconds, top speed of 112mph, and an efficient 17.5 kWh per 100 km of electric energy consumption.
Charging is quick, with a rapid 160kW DC capability offering a 30 minute 20-80% recharge time. Charging via 11kW wallbox charger takes 8h 8min, while 22kW charging capacity takes 4h 16min.
The Jeep Compass is available with an e-Hybrid powertrain, combining efficiency with smooth electrified performance. Paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the system integrates a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine and electric motor for 145hp of combined output, generated by a 136hp petrol engine working in conjunction with a 21kW electric motor for an additional power of approximately 28hp. The system delivers a maximum torque of 230Nm from the petrol engine, with an additional 50Nm provided by the electric motor. A self-charging 48V battery with a capacity of 0.9kWh, supplies the energy, allowing the system to support low-speed electric driving and assist the petrol engine during acceleration.
Efficiency is a key advantage of the e-Hybrid system, with fuel consumption rated at 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres and CO₂ emissions of between 128 and 129g/km, helping to balance performance with reduced environmental impact.
