PEUGEOT TAKES HOME A HOST OF AWARDS AT WHAT CAR VAN AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLE OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The PEUGEOT e-Partner scooped the ‘Best Electric Van Overall’ and ‘Van of the Year’ titles in addition to three more ‘Best for Practicality’ awards for the Partner, Expert and Boxer.

The award-winning PEUGEOT e-Partner is a popular choice amongst business customers, with its practical range of up to 171-miles (WLTP) and competitive payload of up to 800kg. What Car? praised the economy of operating the e-Partner and noted the van’s practicality as key factors in the winning criteria.

Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car?, said: “Owner drivers and fleets are going to really appreciate the cost savings that operating an e-Partner will have for their business. It’s a class-leading small electric van that is practical, great to drive and relaxing to be in.”

In the Best for Practicality (Small Van) sub-category, the PEUGEOT Partner was jointly awarded first place alongside models from sister brands Citroën and Vauxhall, as well as the Toyota Proace City. The PEUGEOT Partner features an impressive 4.4m3 load volume and is equipped with the latest technology to help keep drivers safe, such as a two-stage Overload Indicator. This warns drivers when they are within 10% of the maximum gross vehicle weight and provides a second alert if they exceed the vehicle’s limit.

The PEUGEOT Expert claimed the Best for Practicality award in the Medium Van sub-category, an award shared with the Citroën Dispatch, Toyota Proace and Vauxhall Vivaro. The multi-award winning PEUGEOT Expert features a 6.6m3 maximum load volume and payload of up to 1,446kg, and is available in Compact, Standard and Long lengths. The Expert is also available as a crew van capable of seating up to six people.

Finally, the PEUGEOT Boxer achieved another win for the brand in the Best for Practicality (Large Van) sub-category, alongside the Fiat Ducato, Vauxhall Movano and Citroën Relay. PEUGEOT’s largest Light Commercial Vehicle is available in multiple body sizes, with internal load space ranging from 8.0m3 to 17.0m3 and a maximum payload of 1,870kg on panel vans.

Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT, UK, said: “It’s fantastic that all three of our LCV models have been recognised by What Car? for their class-leading practicality, demonstrating that whatever size of van customers need, PEUGEOT has an option to suit all requirements. With the addition of the e-Partner and e-Boxer, it’s been a highly successful year for PEUGEOT’s LCV range, so it’s particularly pleasing to receive further recognition of our models’ strengths from such a highly regarded title.”

PEUGEOT customers can now choose a fully electric variant across the brand’s entire LCV line-up, as the company works towards its target of offering an electrified variant across all of its passenger and commercial vehicle models by 2024.

The What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle of the Year award winners were announced today (1 November) in an online Twitter ceremony. To find out more about PEUGEOT’s LCV range, visit: https://business.peugeot.co.uk/business-models/categories/vans.html
