PEUGEOT INCREASES MARKET SHARE TO 4.4% IN AUGUST DRIVEN BY STRONG ELECTRIC SALES

PEUGEOT UK increased its share of the combined car and van market to 4.4% in August. The brand has sold more than 57,953 vehicles year-to-date, compared to 53,552 sold for the same period in 2023, an 8% increase in vehicle sales, driven by the success of its electric vehicle line-up.

August was another successful month for PEUGEOT, with the brand’s share of the electric car and van market growing to 5.9%, an increase of 4.5% compared to August 2023. In August, PEUGEOT also ranked among the top five brands for electric vehicle sales. In addition, PEUGEOT achieved an electric car sales mix of 26.7% in August, surpassing the ZEV mandate target.

This growth was partly driven by the success of the new E-3008, which was the UK’s second best-selling electric mid-sized SUV in August, as well as being among the top 10 best-selling electric cars overall, just two months since customer deliveries commenced.

PEUGEOT offers the widest all-electric line-up of any mainstream European brand, with over 9,661 electric vehicles already sold this year compared to 6,579 at the same point in 2023. The new E-3008 and E-5008 are the latest models to join the line-up with a range of up to 422* and 411* miles* respectively. By the end of 2024, PEUGEOT will offer 12 all-electric vehicles, including nine passenger cars and three electric light commercial vehicles.

PEUGEOT’s electric van (e-LCV) range continues to perform strongly, with the brand topping electric van sales in August and year-to-date, with the new E-PARTNER and the E-EXPERT ranking as the number one and two best-selling vans in August respectively. The new E-EXPERT is also the UK’s best-selling electric van so far in 2024.

This electric success has pushed PEUGEOT to be the UK’s best-selling e-LCV brand so far in 2024, with its share of the electric van market growing to 18.4% year-to-date, an increase of 6.9% versus the same point in 2023.

As well as offering the most extensive electric vehicle line-up of any mainstream European brand, PEUGEOT also offers its comprehensive Allure Care Warranty across its electric car range. The warranty covers the electric motor, onboard charger, transmission, and main electrical and mechanical components for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, making PEUGEOT the first European manufacturer to offer such generous coverage. The PEUGEOT Allure Care Warranty is activated automatically and free of charge for two years or 16,000 miles after each service in the PEUGEOT-approved aftersales network.

Eurig Druce, Managing Director, PEUGEOT UK, said: “August delivered another positive sales performance for PEUGEOT, with our overall market share increasing to 4.4% thanks to the success of our electric vehicle line-up, with the E-3008 continuing to perform strongly in just its second full month on sale and our electric van range topping the sales charts. We are proud to offer our customers the widest all-electric line-up of any mainstream European brand, and this month’s figures show our commitment to becoming fully ZEV compliant by the end of 2024, with an electric mix of over 27% in August.”
