PEUGEOT e-PARTNER NAMED WHAT VAN? ELECTRIC VAN OF THE YEAR
The full electric PEUGEOT e-Partner has won the prestigious What Van? ‘Electric Van of the Year’ Award for 2022, while the PEUGEOT e-Expert – also a full electric model - has been awarded the ‘Medium Van of the Year’ title.
The full electric PEUGEOT e-Partner has won the prestigious What Van? ‘Electric Van of the Year’ Award for 2022, while the PEUGEOT e-Expert – also a full electric model - has been awarded the ‘Medium Van of the Year’ title.
The What Van? Awards were decided by a panel of expert judges with decades of combined experience in the light commercial vehicle sector, with the winners announced at a ceremony in London on the 9th December.
Based on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) multi-energy platform, the new PEUGEOT e-Partner is powered by a 50kWh battery providing a range of up to 171 miles (WLTP). The model offers superb practicality, with a load volume of 4.4m3 (matching its diesel equivalent) and a payload of up to 800kg. Customers can choose from two body styles (Standard and Long) and from Panel Van (up to 3 seats) and Crew Van (up to 5 seats) configurations.
James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, said: “The PEUGEOT e-Partner comes packed with innovative technology and combines versatility with practicality. Its strong range offering of over 170 miles and compatibility with rapid charging make the e-Partner a very attractive proposition for business drivers operating within the city and beyond."
Designed to suit the needs of different drivers, the new PEUGEOT e-Expert can be specified with either a 50kWh or 75kWh battery, offering up to 143 and 205 miles of range respectively (WLTP). Customers also have a choice of three lengths (Compact, Standard and Long). With a payload of up to 1,226kg and an identical load volume to the diesel Expert (6.6m3), the new e-Expert is a highly capable and versatile option in the medium van segment.
James Dallas added: “The PEUGEOT e-Expert makes no compromises versus its already popular diesel counterpart, mirroring its load carrying-ability. It's great to drive and offers a very practical range, especially with the option of the larger battery, making the e-Expert a strong contender for operators looking for an economical, zero tailpipe emissions van."
These latest wins add to a growing list of awards for PEUGEOT’s e-LCV models, with the new e-Partner having already been named ‘Van of the Year’ at the What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle of the Year Awards, while the e-Expert was voted the 2021 International Van of the Year at the end of last year.
Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT, UK, said: “PEUGEOT’s electric LCV range continues to impress both customers and industry experts. The latest What Van? Awards are another testament to the high build quality and reliability, as well as practicality and affordable running costs that underpin each PEUGEOT e-LCV.”
PEUGEOT customers can now opt for a fully electric variant across the brand’s entire LCV line-up, as the company works towards its target of offering an electrified variant across all of its passenger and commercial vehicle models by 2024.
