PEUGEOT CONTINUES ITS POSITIVE MOMENTUM IN APRIL WITH INCREASED MARKET SHARE

PEUGEOT continues its positive momentum in April by increasing its car market share from 4.0% at the end of first quarter 2021, to 4.8% in April, according to the latest registration figures recorded by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This contributes to a combined car and van market share of 5.3%, an increase from 4.8% in the first quarter of 2021. In addition, PEUGEOT has achieved third place in electric car sales, with a market share of 7.6%.

PEUGEOT CONTINUES ITS POSITIVE MOMENTUM IN APRIL WITH INCREASED MARKET SHARE

This performance was achieved despite Retailers remaining closed for half of the month, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PEUGEOT’s electric car sales performance is driven by the award-winning e-208, and e-2008 which was recently named ‘Best Crossover’ in the Top Gear Electric Awards 2021. Both models feature a large 50kWh battery and powerful 136hp motor, which on a full charge combine to give a range up to 217 miles in the e-208 and up to 206 miles in the e-2008, according to WLTP. PEUGEOT offers a number of other fully electric passenger cars, including the eight-seater e-Traveller and the all-new e-Rifter, which is joining the range later this year. PEUGEOT is committed to electrification and will offer an electrified version of each model in the range, including LCV’s, by 2025.

Julie David, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK said: “This is a fantastic result for April and I’m incredibly proud of both our head office staff and Retailer Network for their hard work and dedication which has enabled this achievement. With Retailers closed for half of April, it was a challenging month, but the agility of our network and the investment in PEUGEOT Buy Online allowed us to continue communicating with and serving our customers. With our, continued commitment to electrification, the launch of models such as the New 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered and New 308 later in the year, and now the easing of restrictions, we are feeling extremely positive about the rest of 2021.”

PEUGEOT’s passenger car range is available to order from PEUGEOT Retailers and via PEUGEOT Buy Online, where customers can configure and order their vehicle entirely online. PEUGEOT Buy Online reinforces PEUGEOT’s new brand promise of creating quality experiences for customers and ensuring their time is well-spent, by making purchasing a car online simple and convenient. Customers can configure their vehicle, obtain a part exchange valuation, personalise their finance and complete their purchase, all from the comfort of their own home. Customers wishing to purchase an LCV are able to reserve their vehicle online and then complete their journey with their local PEUGEOT Retailer.
