PEUGEOT ACHIEVES 20% GROWTH IN RETAIL CAR SALES
PEUGEOT has continued its strong growth in the retail car market, with sales up 20% year-on-year.
PEUGEOT has continued its strong growth in the retail car market, with sales up 20% year-on-year.
The brand has registered over 10,168 cars in the retail segment year-to-date (YTD), with particularly impressive growth in retail electric car sales. PEUGEOT offers the widest EV line-up of any mainstream European brand, with 2,374 electric cars sold to retail customers so far in 2026 – a year-on-year increase of 158%.
In the LCV market, PEUGEOT’s retail sales are up 46% YTD, while overall LCV sales have also grown by 6% to 10,651. PEUGEOT now has an 8% share of the LCV market, supported by the popularity of the PARTNER, which is the UK’s best-selling compact van YTD. The PARTNER accounts for over one fifth of all compact van sales, with a 22.8% share of the segment, equivalent to 6,149 units.
Nicola Dobson, Managing Director, PEUGEOT UK, said: “It’s encouraging to see continued growth in retail sales as we focus on strengthening our performance in this important area of the market. This momentum has been driven in part by the strong performance of our SUV range, with PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008 retail sales up 65% year-to-date. With a comprehensive product line-up, including the recently launched New 408, and a new pricing strategy, we are well positioned to attract more mainstream customers and further support our retail growth.”
PEUGEOT’s electric car line-up consists of nine models, eight of which are eligible for a £1,500 saving through the UK government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG). The adjusted OTR list pricing on E-3008 means that the 73kWh 210hp version now meets the eligibility criteria for the £1,500 grant across all trim levels (Allure, Allure Premium and GT), making this an even more attractive proposition within the electric C-SUV segment.
To support LCV customers making the switch to electric, PEUGEOT recently announced it is delivering price parity on monthly payments between diesel and electric versions of the PARTNER and EXPERT vans across key funding routes, including Conditional Sale, Finance Lease and Business Contract Hire via Stellantis Financial Services (SFS). PEUGEOT is also supporting customers transitioning to electrified vans by offering a free home charger with all new LCV purchases.
