PEUGEOT 208 CELEBRATES 20,000 UK SALES

The PEUGEOT 208 has surpassed 20,000 model sales in the UK following its commercial launch in 2020. The achievement comes as PEUGEOT also celebrates 10,000 sales across its hybrid and electric vehicles, with the brand set to offer an electrified variant across its entire line-up by 2025.

The award-winning 208 was first revealed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and has since become one of PEUGEOT’s most popular models among drivers and industry experts, having won the 2020 European Car of the Year award. Its full electric variant, the e-208, makes up more than 20% of all 208 models sold since launch.

With over 4,000 vehicles sold since the beginning of 2020, the PEUGEOT e-208 is the most popular electric offering across the range. Powered by a 100kW motor, the full electric PEUGEOT e-208 features a 50kWh battery that provides a range of up to 217 miles (WLTP) from full charge. The e-208 supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge taking just 30 minutes.

The 208 is available in Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, GT and GT Premium trim levels. The PEUGEOT 208 comes with the latest-generation 3D PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® (according to version) with a compact multifunction steering wheel, and either a 7” or 10” HD colour touchscreen. Also included is a range of driver aids, including PEUGEOT Connect SOS and Assistance, Adaptive Cruise Control (according to version) with Stop & Go function, Lane Positioning Assist and Mirror Screen® with Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto and MirrorLink® connectivity.

PEUGEOT is also celebrating 10,000 electric vehicle and hybrid sales in the UK since 2020. Models including the full electric PEUGEOT e-208, e-2008, new 3008 Plug-in Hybrid and 508 Plug-in Hybrid have been joined by the new full electric e-Expert, recently named International Van of the Year 2021. This month also saw the launch of the new 508 PEUGEOT Sport Engineered, PEUGEOT’S most powerful production car ever made, also equipped with Plug-in Hybrid technology. PEUGEOT will offer an electric variant across its entire Light Commercial Vehicle range by the end of this year, with the arrival of the e-Partner and e-Boxer in the coming months.

Following the recent government announcement to cut the Plug-in Car Grant to £2,500, PEUGEOT revised its EV pricing to maximise the number of eligible vehicles, including the e-2008. The e-2008 now starts from £30,730 after the Plug-in Car Grant.
