PEUGEOT 208 AND NEW 308 WIN BIG AT FLEET NEWS AWARDS

PEUGEOT has continued its award-winning run this year with the PEUGEOT 208 named ‘Best Small Car’ and the new PEUGEOT 308 winning the ‘Best Lower Medium Car’ at the Fleet News Awards 2022.

The PEUGEOT 208 was recognised for the second time in the ‘Best Small Car’ category. As one of only two vehicles in the class available as a fully electric model, the 208’s versatility, affordability and excellent efficiency impressed Fleet News judges, alongside its striking looks and high levels of equipment.

The new 308 was awarded ‘Best Lower Medium Car’ thanks to its high-tech interior, excellent infotainment system and its overall style and looks. Both the new 308 and 208 benefit from the unique ergonomics of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, recognisable by its compact steering wheel, which offers a more intuitive driving experience.

The PEUGEOT 208 is available with a choice of efficient diesel or petrol engines or as the 100% electric e-208 with a 50kWh battery connected to a 100kW (136hp) electric motor, capable of up to 225 miles from a single charge (WLTP). The e-208 also supports up to 100kW rapid charging with 0-80% charge taking just 30 minutes, making it ideal for fleet and business users.

From launch, the new PEUGEOT 308 will be available as an efficient plug-in hybrid or with advanced petrol or diesel engines. Full electric variants of the new 308 will arrive later in 2023, with PEUGEOT set to become an electric-only brand by 2030. The full electric e-208, as well as the plug-in HYBRID variants of the new 308 benefit from low Benefit-in-Kind rates, benefitting business and fleet buyers.

The panel of judges commented, The 208 is a deserved winner for a second year running, it is fun, desirable and importantly – financially viable for private or fleet users. The 308 is an outstanding car in this category. Stylish with a premium feel, with excellent Hybrid and options, the 308 is also engaging to drive and has latest-generation tech. It really raises the bar.”

Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT UK, said:We’re delighted to add the Fleet News awards to our trophy cabinet. The fleet sector is incredibly competitive, and a crucial market for PEUGEOT. To win two category awards is recognition of the work we’ve done over the years, and that we continue to offer fleet customers some of the best vehicles in the market. As we continue to electrify our range, our products are becoming increasingly more affordable and attractive to the growing number of fleet buyers looking to cut down on their running costs.”

The PEUGEOT 208 and new PEUGEOT 308 are available to order and buy from PEUGEOT Retailers and via PEUGEOT Buy Online. Buy Online allows customers to configure and order their vehicle entirely online and makes purchasing a car online simple and convenient. Customers can configure their vehicle, obtain a part exchange valuation, personalise their finance and complete their purchase including home delivery options where available, all from the comfort of their own home.
