NEW PEUGEOT 208 & E-208 OPEN FOR ORDERS

PEUGEOT has announced that its new 208 and the latest addition to its all-electric model range, the new E-208, are now open for orders with prices starting from £20,400 and from £32,400 for the E-208 51kWh 156hp.

PEUGEOT has announced that its new 208 and the latest addition to its all-electric model range, the new E-208, are now open for orders with prices starting from £20,400 and from £32,400 for the E-208 51kWh 156hp.

The new 208 was the best-selling car in Europe last year, and with a new design, new powertrains and technologies across all-electric, hybrid and petrol versions, the new 208 has the credentials to remain a favourite with buyers.

The new PEUGEOT 208 delivers:

  • More Allure with an irresistible sporty look featuring a new and more modern PEUGEOT light signature.
  • More Emotion with a more advanced PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® with the latest generation i-Connect infotainment system that enhances the driving experience.
  • More Excellence with electrification in its genes and a new E-208, offering a range of up to 248 miles (WLTP certified), and new HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 powertrains.

More than a million 208 models have been sold since the model’s launch at the end of 2019, with the 208 occupying the top spot in European sales charts in both 2021 and 2022. 2022 also saw the E-208 become Europe’s best-selling electric car in the B-segment. The new 208 and E-208 are available in a choice of four trims: Active, Allure, GT, and, for a limited time, E-Style.

Allure: An eye-catching design

Featuring the new PEUGEOT front-end light signature, which was first debuted on the PEUGEOT 9X8 racecar, the new 208 and E-208 feature the three long vertical light claws to give the car a distinctive and feline look. On GT versions, the three striking light claws are extended upwards into the full LED headlights using three independent optical modules. On Allure and GT versions, the front end of the new 208 also features an evolving body-coloured pattern that blends into the bumper to push the new 208 into the most up-to-date era of PEUGEOT design.

The new 208 reinvents the brand’s emblematic rear light signature, elegantly comprising three horizontal LED red claws. On GT versions, the reversing lights and indicators are also LED. The new 208 and E-208 are available in seven arresting body colours, two of which are new: Selenium Grey can be selected for the first time on the new 208, while Agueda Yellow has been introduced exclusively for the new 208.

Emotion: Advanced PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®

Inside, the new PEUGEOT 208 and E-208 benefit from the latest-generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, which is now even more advanced, connected and ergonomic than ever. Wireless MirrorScreen is now standard on Active, Allure and GT versions, while Allure and GT models now come with the PEUGEOT i-Connect infotainment system with the option to upgrade to i-Connect Advanced which features TomTom® Live navigation and natural voice recognition. All new 208 models in Active, Allure and GT trim also feature a 10-inch central touchscreen as standard, with E-Style versions retaining a 7-inch central touchscreen. A new 2D digital instrument panel with new graphics features on the Allure trim, while the GT trim benefits from a new 3D Quartz instrument panel.

The compact steering wheel offers agility and precision, incorporating the new PEUGEOT shield at its centre and housing the controls for the infotainment system, as well as volume and voice control. GT versions also feature dynamic ambient lighting with a choice of eight colours.

Excellence: the next level of electrification

PEUGEOT 208 customers now have a greater choice of powertrains with all-electric, Hybrid and petrol variants available in the range.

The new E-208 can be purchased with either a 136hp electric motor coupled with a 50 kWh battery, or a 156hp electric motor and 51kWh battery, capable of up to 225 (WLTP certification under approval) and 248 miles respectively  between charges. A 7kW single-phase onboard charger is supplied as standard on all E-208 models, while a three-phase 11kW onboard charger is available as an option. A 20-80% charge takes less than 30 minutes when using a 100kW DC rapid charger, extending to 4 hours and 40 minutes when using a 7.4kW AC fast charger.

For the first time, the PEUGEOT 208 is available with two new self-charging hybrid powertrains, delivering 100hp and 136hp, with a new e-DCS6 dual-clutch electrified 6-speed gearbox which includes an electric motor. Thanks to a battery that recharges while driving, this technology offers extra torque at low revs and up to 15% lower fuel consumption. In urban driving, the new 208 HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 can operate more than 50% of the time in zero-emission all-electric mode.

The new PEUGEOT 208 remains available with PEUGEOT’s efficient PureTech petrol engines, with a choice of two configurations; a PureTech 75 with a five-speed manual gearbox, and a PureTech 100 with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The new 208 and E-208 are available to order from PEUGEOT Retailers or via PEUGEOT’s Buy Online platform. Buy Online allows customers to configure, finance, and order their next vehicle entirely from the comfort of their home, as well as obtain a part-exchange valuation on their current vehicle. Prices for the 208 start from £20,400 OTR MRRP, and the new E-208 51kWh 156hp from £32,400 OTR MRRP.
