E-LION DAY 2024: ANNOUNCEMENT OF 8-YEAR PEUGEOT ‘ALLURE CARE’ PROGRAMME, INTRODUCTION OF CHATGPT & NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH BORN FREE

PEUGEOT has cemented its commitment to providing its customers with total peace of mind with the launch of the PEUGEOT ALLURE CARE programme to provide comprehensive cover for new E-3008 customers for up to 8 years, or 100,000 miles.

PEUGEOT has cemented its commitment to providing its customers with total peace of mind with the launch of the PEUGEOT ALLURE CARE programme to provide comprehensive cover for new E-3008 customers for up to 8 years, or 100,000 miles.

PEUGEOT is the first European brand to offer such extensive coverage on one of its models, and this is a key milestone on the brand’s journey to becoming the leading brand in the European electric market by 2025. PEUGEOT already offers the most extensive EV line-up of any European mainstream brand and aims to invite its customers to participate in this evolution through a variety of initiatives that make zero-emissions mobility simple, accessible, and Alluring.

Following the first E-LION DAY, which took place in January 2023, PEUGEOT is kicking off 2024 by reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development, as well as to its customers, with the following announcements:

  • A wide 100% electric range, the most extensive of any mainstream European brand, meeting the needs of both private and business customers.
  • PEUGEOT Allure Care, a comprehensive programme dedicated to customers of the new PEUGEOT E-3008, which covers electrical and mechanical elements up to 8 years, or 100,000 miles, from the date of registration. This makes PEUGEOT the first European brand to offer such extensive coverage on one of its models.
  • ChatGPT technology is offered to all PEUGEOT customers across its latest generation of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Launching first as a pilot, a finalised version of ChatGPT will be in operation later in 2024.
  • PEUGEOT strengthens its position in the circular economy in line with Stellantis’ "4R" strategy: Remanufacture, Repair, Reuse, and Recycle.
  • The Brand commits to education and announces its partnership with BORN FREE.

The E-LION project is at the heart of PEUGEOT's strategy to build the sustainable mobility of tomorrow. It’s a comprehensive, 360-degree approach that goes beyond the electrification of vehicles and is based on five "E-pillars":

  1. Ecosystem of products and services, based on Stellantis solutions.
  2. Experience for the customer, from start to finish.
  3. Electric, a 100% electric range by the end of 2024.
  4. Efficiency, delivering maximum performance with minimal electrical consumption.
  5. Environment, a sustainability goal and our commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2038.

Linda Jackson, PEUGEOT CEO, said: "With the E-LION project, PEUGEOT is mobilising all its technological know-how and creativity of its teams to enable all its customers to access sustainable mobility. As a leader, we want to pave the way. It's an incredibly rewarding task."

12 electric models including nine passenger vehicles

PEUGEOT offers an expansive new electric vehicle range, consisting of the E-3008, E-208, E-2008, E-308, E-308 SW, E-RIFTER, E-TRAVELLER, E-PARTNER, E-EXPERT, and E-BOXER.

In 2024, the PEUGEOT 100% electric range will be further expanded with the introduction of two new models, the E-408 and E-5008. With these nine passenger cars and three light commercial vehicles, PEUGEOT offers the broadest electric range of any mainstream European manufacturer.

In 2023, PEUGEOT led the electric B-segment in Europe with E-208 and E-2008 and is also the European leader in sales of zero-emission light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

PEUGEOT Allure Care: Total peace of mind for up to 8 years / 100,000 miles

Confident in the quality of its products, the brand is offering PEUGEOT Allure Care to customers of the new E-3008. PEUGEOT Allure Care is a programme that guarantees peace of mind by providing comprehensive cover for the electric motor, charging system, powertrain, and electrical and mechanical components for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. PEUGEOT Allure Care is activated and maintained through regular servicing and subject to terms and conditions.

PEUGEOT Allure Care aims to accelerate the adoption of its latest generation of electric cars, giving customers the confidence and peace of mind they need to make the switch. The PEUGEOT Allure Care programme is in addition to the specific warranty offered by PEUGEOT on all its electric vehicle batteries, also lasting 8 years or 100,000 miles, to cover the entire vehicle.

Launched in major European markets, PEUGEOT is the first European brand to offer such extensive and comprehensive coverage on one of its models. PEUGEOT Allure Care coverage is automatically activated for 2 years or 16,000 miles after each scheduled maintenance is carried out within the PEUGEOT-approved network.

Phil York, PEUGEOT Marketing and Communication Director, said: "We believe that PEUGEOT Allure Care will accelerate the adoption of the latest generation of 100% electric PEUGEOT vehicles by offering customers the peace of mind they need to take the step. This coverage of exceptional breadth is a testament to the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of our products."

Responding to customer needs and concerns

Across its entire 100% electric range, PEUGEOT ensures that zero-emission mobility remains accessible. The PEUGEOT Switch Grant is a perfect example of how PEUGEOT is making it easier to go electric in the UK, providing E-208, E-2008, E-308, and E-308 SW customers with 0% APR over four years and no minimum deposit, as well as up to £4,000 support, thanks to the PEUGEOT Switch Grant.

To meet customer needs, PEUGEOT is committed to offering the best and most efficient electric driving range figures on the market. For example, the new E-3008 sets a new benchmark in its segment with a range of up to 435 miles (WLTP).

With Free2move Charge, PEUGEOT customers have access to one of the most extensive charging networks in Europe. It includes more than 600,000 charging points, of which more than 77,000 are rapid DC chargers, where E-3008 customers can gain 60 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Coming soon to the UK, the Free2move Charge Go smartphone app will enable PEUGEOT customers access to over 80% of public chargers, the biggest network available in the country, with just one tap.

Jérôme Micheron, PEUGEOT Product Director, said: "Our models are not only accessible, but they are also the most efficient in their segments. For example, the PEUGEOT E-308 has the lowest electricity consumption of any car in its category."

ChatGPT arrives in the i-Cockpit® of all PEUGEOT vehicles

PEUGEOT takes the customer experience, one of the five pillars of the E-LION project, even further by offering ChatGPT technology across its latest generation of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The most well-known generative artificial intelligence model in the world is integrated into the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® and becomes, through the ‘OK PEUGEOT’ voice assistant, a true driving partner capable of answering countless questions and requests on any subject.

Once the ‘OK PEUGEOT’ voice assistant is activated, customers simply voice their queries, and ChatGPT will respond. The generative artificial intelligence can provide answers to specific questions, such as suggesting landmarks to visit in a city and then guiding drivers there using the navigation system.

PEUGEOT, a player in the circular economy

Creating a complete ecosystem based on Stellantis solutions is another pillar of the E-LION project. Stellantis is developing a circular economy business based on the ‘4Rs’: Remanufacture, Repair, Reuse, and Recycle.

Part of PEUGEOT’s approach is using fewer and more sustainable materials, increasing their longevity and ensuring that they are recycled at the end of their life. For instance, the new PEUGEOT E-3008 is made up of 23% recycled materials, including steel and polymers.

To ensure the recycling of end-of-life vehicles in Europe, Stellanits has created Sustainera Valorauto, a joint venture with Galloo, a European leader in recycling. Sustainera Valorauto offers retail and business customers a complete solution that includes the collection and dismantling of vehicles, the recovery, refurbishment, and marketing of viable parts, and the recycling of materials.

Another joint venture dedicated to the recycling of electric car batteries in Europe and North America has been launched by Stellanits with Orano, a global leader in recycling. It will use Orano's innovative low-carbon technology that allows for a significant recovery rate of materials from lithium-ion batteries.

In-house battery repairs conducted by internal Stellantis technicians also form part of the ‘4Rs’ project.

PEUGEOT commits to education with BORN FREE partnership

Humanity and the environment are at the heart of the E-LION project. PEUGEOT has decided to place education at the core of its responsible strategy and to focus on concrete educational actions that positively impact the environment.

The brand’s first E-LION partnership was set up in Spring 2023 with the French scientific and educational association, UNDER THE POLE, whose mission is to raise youth awareness about the major challenges of ocean preservation. PEUGEOT BOXER vans have been made available to transport their equipment during upcoming expeditions, but also to tow the UNDER THE POLE educational caravan across France for its ocean awareness activities with the general public and in schools.

Today, PEUGEOT is announcing a second E-LION partnership for 2024 with a UK charity, BORN FREE, that works to protect wild species and wildlife habitats by engaging, educating and empowering local communities to co-exist with wildlife in Kenya and other countries around the world.

Will Travers, BORN FREE Co-founder, said: “The growing human population can lead to increased conflict with wildlife, for example, lions attacking livestock. But with PEUGEOT’s support and commitment, BORN FREE is deploying effective, innovative strategies such as predator-proof fences, or Bomas, to protect people and cattle, to conserve natural resources, protect wildlife and safeguard local people helping keep everyone safe.”

Linda Jackson, PEUGEOT CEO, said: "Today, more than ever, a brand like PEUGEOT must contribute to a more responsible and sustainable world for future generations. We are on our way to achieving our Carbon Net Zero objective, but there are different ways of getting there. I am convinced that education is one of the keys to a more sustainable world and that's why we want to make our contribution”.
