THE LUXURY SALOONS FROM THE ITALIAN CAR MANUFACTURER TRAVEL ACROSS EUROPE AS PART OF THE 2015 EDITION OF THE ALL FEMALE CHARITY TOUR

London, 15 May 2015 – Five red Maserati luxury saloons are ready to leave one of the most celebrated hotels in the world, London’s exclusive Dorchester, to begin the Cash & Rocket Tour, an event now in its fourth edition and organised to raise money for three very worthwhile charities.

On the eve of the event, the Dorchester Hotel hosted a gala dinner and charity auction which raised over £550,000. The most exclusive items on the block included: a haute couture Valentino gown, return flights to Cannes in a private jet and a Chopard watch. Many celebrities and VIPs attended the event to help raise money and celebrate the launch of the Tour, including actor Luke Evans, models Selita Ebanks, Arizona Muse, Jade Parfitt and Ashley Graham, Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green, with daughter Chloe and wife Lady Tina, Leah and Jo Wood, Chelsy Davy, socialite Yasmin Mills and singer Natalie Imbruglia.

The organisers have set an ambitious goal for Cash & Rocket Tour 2015 and hope to raise more than a million pounds, topping the previous record, money which will go to the three nominated charities.

The three non-governmental organisations which inspired the Cash & Rocket Tour and are supported by it – Shine on Sierra Leone, OrphanAfrica and Sumbandila – are all involved in the promotion of community projects intended to improve the future prospects of thousands of deserving young people living in Central and South Africa.

The protagonists of this charitable fund-raising project, the Cash & Rocket Tour, are 70 successful women, leading figures in the worlds of film, television, fashion, business, the arts and music, who will take turns driving a convoy of red automobiles through the UK, France and Italy.

Maserati will be participating with five saloons which will join the total fleet of 35 vehicles, all boasting bright red, the colour of the Tour’s flag. Starting off tomorrow morning from Audley Square, Mayfair, the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli models will be driven by the first shift of the all-female crews supporting this charity event.

Among the celebrities at the wheel of the Maserati Ghibli will be the former angel of Victoria’s Secret, Selita Ebanks, and the stunning Spanish model Nieves Álvarez. Taking turns at the wheel of the Maserati Quattroporte editors and influencers in the realms of fashion and lifestyle active on Buro 24/7, the most important media platform in Eastern Europe.

Today, the press day for the Tour, the philanthropic ladies, will be driving through the centre of London, from the London Eye, where the luxury vehicles will be lined up, to Regents Street, via Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, The Mall and Oxford Street.

Tomorrow morning the convoy of red cars will set off for Paris, passing through the Eurotunnel towards the Paris headquarters of Valentino on Place Vendôme, for an evening programme continuing to feature the hallmark colour of red.

The convoy, having passed through Lyon and then Milan, where it will stop for a cocktail party at Palazzo Bocconi, will conclude on Tuesday 19th May in Cannes.

This parade of luxury cars will make a grand entrance into the star-studded setting of the town’s Film Festival, moving down La Croisette until it reaches Allée de la Liberté Charles de Gaulle, where a contingent of Maseratis will be proudly lined up for a photo shoot, before proceeding in an elegant procession across the prestigious red carpet. The Tour will end in grand style with a dazzling cocktail dinner hosted by Chopard, the Swiss-based luxury watch brand.
