Leapmotor UK has revealed its electric B05 will be priced at £28,995 for retail customers, including the £1,500 LEAP-GRANT*. Providing the highest levels of quality, specification, and technology as standard, the hatchback is the latest model to deliver on the brand’s ‘value without compromise’ proposition.

As with every Leapmotor model, the B05 is available in a single, extremely well-equipped specification, which ensures exceptional value and makes choosing simplicity itself. Featuring a host of premium standard features not normally seen at this price point, the B05 sets new standards for intelligent electric vehicles, offering advanced connectivity, a spacious interior, and a dynamic exterior design.

Underpinned by Leapmotor’s state-of-the-art Cell-to-Chassis architecture, the B05 delivers exceptional performance and safety. With a powerful 215hp rear-mounted motor driving the rear wheels and integrated rear multi-link suspension tuned for European roads, the B05 delivers dynamic performance and refined comfort. It is equipped with a large 67.1kWh battery (usable), which offers a WLTP range of up to 300 miles and 174 kW DC rapid charging from 30-80% in just 17 minutes.

The B05 is also the latest model to benefit from a £1,500 LEAP-GRANT*, available to all retail customers. Leapmotor was the first manufacturer to launch its own self-funded electric car grant in July 2025, following the government’s Electric Car Grant initiative. For company car users, where the B05’s low 4% benefit-in-kind rating offers attractive tax savings, the price is £30,495 on-the-road (OTR).

Everything as standard

Every B05 comes in the same, generously specified single trim level that ensures buyers benefit from the latest technology and a wide range of premium features. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic air-conditioning, automatic LED headlights and taillights, and electrically operated heated and folding exterior mirrors.

Smartphone connectivity is also standard, featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, along with a wireless charging pad located between the front seats. As standard, the B05 is fitted with a powerful and benchmarked 12-speaker audio system that has been entirely self-developed.

Also included are electrically adjustable front seats (4-way for the passenger and 6-way for the driver) among a whole host of premium features. Trimmed in OEKO-TEX** certified eco-leather, the seats feature a seven-layer construction and are dressed in bamboo charcoal upholstery, combining exceptional comfort with sustainable materials.

Practical design

The B05 features strong coupe-inspired styling cues that deliver an outstanding drag coefficient of 0.26, making it one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in the sector. This has been achieved through features such as the standard flush-fitting door handles that seamlessly integrate with the car body, integrated air curtains in the front bumper, and an active front grille. A key design feature is the frameless doors, which eliminate the need for traditional window surrounds.

This eye-catching interior style combines effortlessly with exceptional family-friendly practicality. As a result of Leapmotor’s Cell-to-Chassis technology, the B05 is very space efficient, offering exceptional rear passenger shoulder room, along with generous headroom throughout. In addition, the rear seats feature a rake of 27°, improving comfort on long journeys.

The B05 features a large boot, which is perfect for young families, plus the rear seat has a 60/40 split fold function for enhanced flexibility. With the rear seats in place, the B05 has a total boot volume of 345 litres, which expands to 1,400 litres with the seats folded. For added practicality, there are 25 storage spaces throughout the vehicle, including in the centre console, door panels, seat backs, and boot, to meet various daily storage needs, as well as two rear ISO-fix with top tether on the outer seats.

Five exterior paint finishes are available, including the B05’s signature solid Lightning Yellow. The other metallic colours include Starry Night Blue, Windy Grey, Metallic Black, and Galaxy Silver. All the colours are complemented by gloss black trim inserts for the front grille, lower sills, window surrounds and door mirror housings. For the interior, there’s a stylish two-tone Light-Grey theme as well as a Shadow-Grey available, both as a no-cost option.

Safety is a key priority for Leapmotor, and the B05 is the first of the Leapmotor models to feature 21 driver assistance systems that allow Level 2 semi-autonomous driving, thanks to the introduction of an additional front sensor that enables four additional assistance systems.

Key technologies include advanced emergency braking, automatic lane change, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, door open warning (for cyclists) and adaptive cruise control. These cutting-edge systems are made possible by the 14 high-precision sensors and cameras, including four surround view cameras, four ultrasonic sensors, two front radars, two rear corner radars, a front view camera and a driver fatigue monitoring camera.

Innovative vehicle technology

Using Leapmotor’s innovative Cell-to-Chassis technology (CTC2.0+), which integrates the battery cells into the structure of the vehicle, the B05 uses a state-of-the-art 67.1kWh battery, which offers a WLTP range of up to 300 miles and can be recharged from 30-80% in just 17 minutes, with a maximum charging speed of 174kW.  Powered by a highly efficient 215hp rear-mounted motor, the B05 features a Launch Control system that delivers a 0-62mph time of just 6.7 seconds.

As with the B10 and C10 SUVs, the B05 features a next-generation electric drive system that uses a special oil cooling system to regulate temperature, even at higher-speed driving, improving efficiency while increasing longevity and smoothness of operation. The motor is both lightweight (around 60kg in total) and is 94% efficient, which means less energy is wasted during everyday driving.

Tuned for European roads with the support of Stellantis' global chassis experts, the B05 uses a McPherson front suspension set-up and an innovative integrated rear multi-link arrangement that incorporates the rear motor to save weight. Weight distribution is a perfectly balanced 50:50, which, combined with the rear-wheel drive layout, delivers agile and engaging handling.

Like the rest of the brand’s line-up, the B05 utilises the Leapmotor App, including remote air conditioning, central locking, steering wheel heating and electric seat heating or ventilating. Users can also configure the App as a virtual Bluetooth key, meaning drivers simply need to have their phone with them for seamless entry and starting. A slimline NFC card is also supplied.

The Leapmotor B05 will be available to order through Leapmotor UK’s 79-strong retail network from early July, with first customer deliveries expected from late July, and, like all Leapmotor models, it’s covered by a 4-year and 60,000-mile warranty. For the battery, extra peace of mind comes in the form of a separate eight-year and 100,000-mile warranty.
