Leapmotor has reached a new milestone after securing 1% share of the new car market as well as exceeding 11,000 registrations in the UK since launch.

The achievement follows a period of sustained growth for the electric vehicle manufacturer, which has continued to attract increasing numbers of retail and fleet customers through its combination of advanced technology, generous levels of standard equipment and accessible pricing.

According to the latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Leapmotor recorded 2,150 registrations in June making it their strongest month yet securing a 1% share of the new car market and 3% share of the electric car market and 6,770 registrations year-to-date,. The performance further strengthens its position as one of the fastest-growing new electric vehicle brands in Britain – Leapmotor registered 4,273 vehicles in the UK in 2025, having first launched here in the Spring of last year.

This milestone sees Leapmotor reach third in the country (YTD) among Chinese brands for BEV retail registrations and ninth in the country (YTD) across all brands for BEV retail registrations.

Leapmotor continues to be almost exclusively BEV (>95%) and with its range of fully electrified vehicles built around an 'everything as standard' philosophy, Leapmotor continues to appeal to customers looking to make the switch to electric without compromising on quality, technology or practicality.

The brand's strong retail performance has remained a key driver of its growth. More than 63% of Leapmotor sales year-to-date have been to private buyers, significantly exceeding the industry average retail mix for electric vehicles which is currently sitting at 31%.

Not only that, in the same month, Leapmotor was in the top 10 for retail electric sales, keeping the third place for retail electric car sales among the new Chinese entrant brands. The Leapmotor B10 electric family SUV keeps proving a particular hit in June with private buyers, placing second overall in the category ahead of rivals such as the Škoda Enyaq, Kia EV5 and Ford Explorer.

As part of its commitment to delivering accessible electric mobility, Leapmotor continues to offer its industry-leading LEAP-GRANT* programme. Introduced ahead of the UK Government's own Electric Car Grant, the initiative provides savings of up to £3,750* on selected models and continues to support customers making the transition to electric driving.

Damien Dally, Leapmotor UK Managing Director, said: "Reaching a market share of 1% so early in our second year in the UK is a significant achievement and demonstrates the growing appetite among British consumers for electric vehicles that offer genuine value without compromise.

"Our success has been built on a straightforward proposition: highly specified, technologically advanced electric vehicles at prices that make the switch to electric more accessible. Customers are increasingly recognising that they don't need to sacrifice quality, style or innovation to choose an affordable EV.

"While we're proud of the progress we've made in a relatively short space of time, we're even more excited about what comes next. With a growing retailer network, an expanding model range and the support of Stellantis behind us, we remain firmly focused on building on this momentum and establishing Leapmotor as a major force in the UK electric vehicle market."

Since launching in the UK, Leapmotor's range of fully electrified vehicles has expanded to a five-model line-up. All models feature the same comprehensively equipped single-trim philosophy, combining extensive standard equipment, advanced technology and high levels of quality and safety.

Every Leapmotor is backed by a comprehensive four-year vehicle warranty, alongside a separate eight-year battery warranty, providing added peace of mind for customers.

The award-winning T03 has played a key role in introducing more British drivers to electric mobility. Just last week Leapmotor doubled its LEAP-GRANT* on the T03 to £3,000 meaning the car is available to retail customers from just £12,995 OTR. The A-segment car has helped redefine expectations of what an affordable EV can offer, combining one of the lowest entry prices in the market with impressive standard specification and a range of up to 165 miles (WLTP).

Furthermore, order books opened last week for the B05, an all-electric family hatchback, which will be priced from £28,995 for retail customers, including a £1,500 LEAP-GRANT*.

The B10 is an electric C-segment SUV combining contemporary design, advanced technology and everyday practicality. Powered by a 67.1kWh battery, it offers up to 270 miles of range (WLTP) and is priced from £30,495 for retail customers with the LEAP-GRANT* applied. Customers can also choose the B10 Hybrid EV, which delivers a combined range of 559 miles** (WLTP) and will be available to order later in the summer.

The C10 large family SUV is available from £32,750 OTR including the £3,750 LEAP-GRANT*. Offering a WLTP range of up to 263 miles and a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, it is also available with Leapmotor's range-extending Hybrid EV powertrain, delivering up to 602 miles of combined range (WLTP).

Later in 2026, the Leapmotor line-up will expand further with the B03X compact SUV, which will follow the brand's established approach of offering customers a single, highly specified trim level.
