Leapmotor has revealed its innovative Leap Mat charging device that allows users to top-up their car battery anytime and anywhere. Available to order from the start of April, this cutting-edge device converts physical movement into electrical energy for convenient and cost-effective charging.

Available to purchase from all Leapmotor retailers, the Leap Mat features a unique system that harnesses kinetic energy. When users lay the mat on the ground and leap, jump, skip or run on the spot, the ground-breaking Leap Mat harnesses  pioneering technology to generate electricity, which is then fed into the car’s battery using the integrated CCS2 cable and plug.

With the ability to be folded or unfolded in seconds, the Leap Mat can be stored in the vehicle’s boot and allows owners instant access to electricity in any off-grid location. Made of durable and weatherproof material, the Leap Mat is available in a number of colours to perfectly complement the exterior finish of the customer’s Leapmotor.

One of the highlights of this advanced accessory is the fact it generates electricity that costs nothing and comes from a completely renewable energy source. Furthermore, owners can also enjoy the health benefits of the Leap Mat’s charging workout, plus the longer they exercise the more miles they’ll add to the range.

Leapmotor spokesperson, Paul Yorlegg, said: “The new Leap Mat is yet another example of our commitment to combining incredible value with the latest technology. Not only does this innovative device give owners the flexibility to plug-in and charge wherever they are, regardless of the day or night, it also helps them stay fit on the go.

Taking the leap to own a Leapmotor doesn’t just mean enjoying value without compromise, it also means generating your own electricity”.

The Leap Mat will be the first in a range of novel new charging devices that the brand will launch in the future. Engineers are also working on a compact roof-mounted wind turbine, a solar panel paint finish and floor mats for rear seat passengers that double as electricity-generating treadmills.
