MOPAR LAUNCHES NEW TOTAL LOSS AVOIDANCE PROGRAMME
MOPAR, the aftersales brand of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has announced the launch of the MOPAR Total Loss Avoidance Programme.
MOPAR, the aftersales brand of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has announced the launch of the MOPAR Total Loss Avoidance Programme.
The programme, which is available immediately for all Fiat Group approved body repair facilities and British Standard Kitemark approved bodyshops which have achieved the PAS125, will target vehicles that are involved in accidents and subsequently categorised as ‘beyond economical repair’ by an insurance company.
“It is estimated that this programme will initially save 20 vehicles a month from being classed as beyond economical repair by the insurer, and therefore labelled a total loss,” says Andy Hayward, MOPAR Parts & Service Commercial Manager.
“Total loss means the car is not repaired by the insurance company and the owner is usually provided with the pre-accident value of their car. However in most instances our customers would prefer to have their car repaired, without the need to buy another one, as this is inconvenient and, usually, creates further cost to obtain an equivalent car.”
The MOPAR Total Loss Avoidance Programme provides a simple and straightforward solution which has benefits for all parties involved. The insurer will authorise the repair as it now falls within its financial parameters and therefore does not require the disposal of an accident-damaged car. The bodyshop will continue to complete the repair, the franchised dealer sells the parts and retains the vehicle for future servicing and the customer has their car repaired to the correct standard using genuine parts which have a two-year European-wide warranty.
For full details on how the programme operates, customers should visit www.fiatgroupTLA.co.uk and complete the required application form. MOPAR aims to provide an answer regarding the support for the repair within four working hours.
