AMSTERDAM, 7 May 2025 – Having customer safety and satisfaction at the core of its values, Stellantis launched an online compensation platform dedicated to assessing compensation claims from European consumers who had reimbursement expenses with previous generations of the PureTech 1.0 and 1.2 engines (also known as EB) due to excessive oil consumption and/or premature degradation of the timing belt. This complementary compensation policy will cover expenses contracted between 1st January 2022, and 31st December 2024, following certain maintenance and diagnosis conditions recommended by the Brands: Citroën, DS Automobiles, Vauxhall and Peugeot.
The online compensation platform, accessible through the address https://stellantis-support.com and visible on the Brands’ websites, will enable consumers to submit their cases and provide the documentation required for evaluation in a fast and convenient online process. Its implementation is done in a staggered manner, beginning of January the evaluation of claims from pre-selected customers in France and Spain already started. Now the platform opens progressively for other customers in Europe.
Conditions for compensation include, that services related to excessive oil consumption and/or premature degradation of the timing belt must have complied with the manufacturers’ maintenance plan and been performed by any automotive professional, while both diagnosis and repair must have been conducted through the authorised network. The full compensation policy can be consulted here
Extended warranty
Stellantis extended the warranty on previous generations of PureTech engines due to excessive oil consumption and premature degradation of the timing belt, covering 100% of the costs for up to 10 years or 112,000 miles for both parts and labour, under certain conditions. These extraordinary warranty measures also include the implementation of the new “Check+” certificate, proving the reliability of pre-owned vehicles that followed the recommended maintenance and repairs, with 100 points of control including timing belt for pre-owned cars sold by Spoticar and the approved network.
Technical evolution
The PureTech engine line was originally launched in 2012, adding great technical innovations to deliver a high level of dynamic performance, combined with controlled CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. The current evolution of the derived PureTech engines has been engineered with major architectural evolutions and 70% of new parts, addressing all concerns from previous generations. Extensive and demanding long endurance tests confirmed a very high level of reliability for these new generation engines.
