A true distillation of DS Automobiles’ expertise, DS N°4 represents avant-garde design and refinement. With the widest electrified range in the premium compact hatchback segment, it combines benchmark comfort, driving precision and advanced connectivity. The first official test drives have taken place on the roads of Portugal, with deliveries to DS Stores and early customers around the world set to follow.

DS N°4’s introduces a new, more horizontal black grille, highlighted by a light signature inspired by the DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE concept ca. The new DS Automobiles design asserts its identity more than ever. A beam of light stretches across the front coming together at the illuminated DS logo in the centre, giving DS N°4 a unique poise and striking look.

The redesigned front is standard on all specifications, while the ÉTOILE version also features DS MATRIX LED VISION headlamps, combining matrix technology and directional functionality for optimal lighting while enhancing DS N°4’s distinctive and bold aesthetics.

Athletic silhouette, unique presence

At 4.40 m long, 1.87 m wide and 1.49 m high, DS N°4 has balanced proportions blending dynamism and elegance. Muscular lines flow into a striking silhouette, giving it a dramatic presence.

DS N°4 is complemented with 19-inchwheels, a black contrasting roof and a chrome strip following the curvature of the body assert its bold and refined character.

At the rear, the new light signature is accompanied by LED taillights and a “Dark Chrome” mask enhanced by laser-engraved embossed scales. The new Brand identity, with the DS Automobiles lettering on the tailgate, further emphasises its standing.

 

First-class comfort and a distinctive cockpit

The legendary comfort of DS Automobiles designs is reflected in every detail of DS N°4’s interior, refined, signature details of the DS Brand.

 

Every element of DS Automobiles’ artisanal expertise is showcased inside DS N°4, through special details such as the Clous de Paris embossed inserts, the Criollo Brown Nappa leather seats with watchstrap upholstery, the Brown Ash wood inserts and pearl stitching – a signature unique to the Brand and the automotive world. The interior varies by specification between classic elegance and contemporary sophistication: the PALLAS trim emphasises DS fabrics and canvases, the ÉTOILE specification highlights Alcantara®, and the ÉTOILE Nappa trim features Nappa leather across the dashboard, door panels and centre console. Together, these details create an exclusive, serene cabin that ensures every journey is unforgettable.

 

DS N°4’s boot space is generous across all variants,  430 litres for the HYBRID version, 360 litres for PLUG-IN HYBRID and 390 litres for the new 100% electric DS N°4 E-TENSE version, with electric tailgate options including hands-free access.

 

With its 2.67 m wheelbase and 1.87 m width with the mirrors folded, DS N°4 has generous headroom in both rows with ample elbow and legroom for all occupants, complemented by clever storage solutions.

 

Dynamic serenity

DS N°4’s sharp lines reflect more than design - a promise of dynamism at the wheel. Precise fine-tuned suspension, chassis and drivetrain deliver a driving experience with a subtle balance between comfort and agility, for a smooth and engaging journey.

 

The 100% electric E-TENSE version embodies this philosophy perfectly. In the city, cruising the open roads or at a brisk pace, it retains the natural agility and precise handling, staying true to DS Automobiles’ meticulous standards for a unique, refined  Art of Travel experience.

 

Three powertrains, three technologies

 

 DS N°4 is the only premium multi-energy compact hatchback to offer a complete range of electrified drivetrains to  suit customer needs: self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid and the new E-TENSE 100% electric version.

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE: 100% Electric 279 miles of range (WLTP combined cycle)

Ground clearance DS N°4 E-TENSE has been lowered by 10 mm, combining range capability and high performance. Powered by a battery with a net capacity of 58.3 kWh linked to a 213 hp electric motor delivering 343 Nm of torque.

 

With carefully managed electricity consumption, between 15.0 and 15.1 kWh/100 km depending on the version, DS N°4 E-TENSE has a WLTP range of up to 279 miles.

 

E-Tense also offers three modes of regenerative braking: low regeneration (-0.6 m/s2), moderate regeneration (-1.3 m/s2) and high regeneration (-2.0 m/s2) which activate as soon as the accelerator is released and can be adjusted via paddles on the steering wheel. DS N°4’s memory retains the last mode used.

 

Designed to adapt to individual driver needs, DS N°4 E-TENSE is equipped with an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger supporting up to 120 kW DC fast charging,  allowing 20 to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes, or 62 miles WLTP in just 11 minutes.

 

DS N°4 E-TENSE offers a complete suite of features designed to simplify everyday life. The in-car EV Routing, battery preconditioning, e-Routes app and remote e-control functions provide an intuitive and seamless experience.

 

This high-tech environment also includes the V2L (Vehicle to Load) function, allowing external devices to be powered via an adapter, for even more versatility in using the car.

 

DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID: Up to 50 miles in 100 % electric

DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID increases its range over the previous generation by 30% in all-electric mode with a new  14.6 kWh battery delivering up to 50 miles in all electric mode (combined WLTP range) before switching to hybrid operation that combines efficiency and dynamism.

 

Its powertrain unites a 180 hp 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 125 hp electric motor, integrated into a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The combined output of 225 hp and 360 Nm of torque, DS N°4 PLUG-IN HYBRID accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 7.4 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the previous generation. The system includes with a 3.7 kW in-car charger, with an optional 7.4 kW upgrade faster charging at a suitable charging point.

 

DS N°4 HYBRID: 145 hp, Self-Charging

DS N°4 HYBRID combines a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor, in a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

 

Optimised for efficiency, DS N°4 HYBRID can operate in all-electric mode up to 50% of the time in urban conditions, depending on traffic conditions and driving style, recovering energy from deceleration and braking.

 

With a combined output of 145 hp and 230 Nm of torque, this powertrain delivers first-class performance while displaying low CO₂ emissions (from 117 g/km), establishing DS N°4 HYBRID a benchmark in terms of efficiency.

 

Extended connectivity

DS N°4 E-TENSE includes a suite of connected services for optimised and trouble-free journey management over a period of 3* to 10** years:

 

• EV Routing*: intelligent charging-stop planning (depending on equipment), with the option to set the battery charge level upon arrival.
• The e-Routes* app: Calculates travel time including traffic and stops, accessible via the My DS app.
• Battery Preconditioning**: Optimises charging and cabin temperature in cold weather, either automatically via on-board EV Routing or manually, ensuring peak energy performance,
• e-Remote controls**: Manage charging, cabin preheating, schedule 80% AC charging stops remotely.

 

The CONNECT ONE PACK, included for 10 years, offers remote e-controls, enabling drivers to monitor battery charge, thermal preconditioning of the cabin and manage charging remotely. It also includes a digital service book, DS e-Coaching and over the air updates for a worry-free driving experience

 

The CONNECT PLUS PACK (included for 3 years depending on specification) enhances the experience with connected navigation, voice recognition, remote control functions such as remote locking/unlocking, connected alarm (depending on the equipment), accessible via the MyDS app.

 

In 2026, DS N°4 E-TENSE will introduce PLUG & CHARGE, simplifying electric charging: owners simply plug in, and the system will automatically recognise the car, subscription or prepaid package, consolidating everything in a single bill.

 

DS IRIS SYSTEM on the news feed

In March 2024, DS Automobiles became the first manufacturer in the world to integrate ChatGPT as standard on all its models equipped with DS IRIS SYSTEM, in countries where voice recognition is available.

 

Building on this innovation, DS N°4 will soon offer an even more interactive infotainment experience by allowing occupants to ask questions about the latest news — whether cultural, sport, or international events — and receive  instant, effective and reliable answers.

 

Simply say “OK IRIS” to start a seamless and natural conversation with the car, transforming the DS N°4 into a true travel companion.

 

Range structure 

DS N°4 is available in two main trim levels: PALLAS, featuring DS fabric-canvas upholstery and ÉTOILE, equipped with additional equipment and an Alcantara® interior with optional Nappa leather watchstrap upholstery. A PALLAS-derived PALLAS+ is also available and incorporates DS IRIS SYSTEM, keyless entry and start, a wireless charger.

N°4 PALLAS

Representing elegance and sophistication, PALLAS trim provides a refined interior completed with diamond tungsten fabric and DS black canvas seats. The dashboard and door panels have basalt black trim with a tortoiseshell effect, as well as bronze inserts for a sophisticated overall look.

The standard equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlamps and full LED rear lights, heated and folding door mirrors, a safety pack with adaptive cruise control with stop and go and adaptive speed limiter and automatic emergency braking controlled by camera and radar, front and rear parking assistance with reversing camera, acoustic laminated front side windows for optimal comfort, Bluetooth® connectivity and over-the-air updates.

PALLAS is available exclusively with the new all-electric E-TENSE powertrains, with prices starting from £36,995 OTR.

 

N°4 PALLAS+

PALLAS+ builds on the generous specification of the PALLAS, adding DS Iris system – 3D connected navigation with natural voice recognition, wireless smartphone charging and keyless entry and start, as well as a heat pump on E-TENSE variants.

PALLAS+ can also be specified with an optional Comfort pack to add dark tinted rear windows, acoustic laminated rear side windows, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats.

PALLAS+ is available across the full range of powertrains – hybrid, plug-in hybrid and E-TENSE – with N°4 PALLAS+ models starting at £32,200 OTR for a PALLAS+ hybrid.

 

N°4 ÉTOILE

The dynamic and sophisticated ÉTOILE trim stands out with its seats in Alcantara® and basalt woven fabric, enhanced with new stitching. The Alcantara® dashboard and door panels with bronze accents bring a refined atmosphere.

As standard, the ÉTOILE trim includes the DS extended head up display, DS Matrix LED vision headlamps and full led rear lights with scrolling indicators, the rear traffic detection pack (RCTA + LCA), powered front seats, laminated and tinted rear glass, aluminium door sill protectors and pedals and the DS Drive Assist pack.

Two optional packs are available in the ÉTOILE specification. Absolute comfort pack adds massaging and heated seats, heated steering wheel (E-TENSE only) and focal Electra® audio system. The Absolute Tech pack offers heated steering wheel, DS Drive assist 2.0 with recommended speed adaptation and semi-automated lane change, 360-degree panoramic vision, and auto-dimming exterior mirrors with DS puddle lights.

Available across all powertrains, pricing for N°4 ÉTOILE start from £35,000 OTR for a N°4 ÉTOILE hybrid.

 

N°4 ÉTOILE NAPPA

DS N°4 builds on ÉTOILE specification with a Criollo Brown Nappa leather interior, available on both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. It also includes additional equipment including heated steering wheel and powered, heated front seats.

Two packs are available in the ÉTOILE NAPPA specification. The Absolute Tech pack and Comfort pack which adds motorised tailgate with hands-free access, electric sunroof and focal Electra® audio system. Plug-in hybrid versions also gain ventilated and massaging front seats.

Prices for the N°4 ÉTOILE NAPPA start at £37,400 OTR for an ÉTOILE NAPPA hybrid.

 

All DS N°4 models are available in a choice of five paint colours. Night flight is offered as standard while Pearl White, Crystal Pearl, Perla Nera black, and a unique pastel colour specific to N°4, Cashmere, are also available as a cost option. A Perla Nera black rood can also be optioned with all contrasting paint colours.
