DS Automobiles is partnering with leading golf ball tracking provider, Toptracer, to offer drivers the opportunity to upgrade their driving experience and be in with a chance of winning a DS N°8, the new flagship electric vehicle from the Parisian brand. The activity, fronted by multiple DP World Tour and Ryder Cup winner and DS Ambassador David Howell will be available at over 225 Toptracer affiliated driving ranges across the UK.

DS Automobiles is a partner of the FedEx Open De France held at Le Golf National, Versailles and is bringing the savoir-faire of Paris to the UK. DS N°8 is a 100% electric coupé SUV that blends avant-garde design with refined comfort and offers drivers an upgrade to their driving experience with up to 466 miles (WLTP combined) of range on a single charge.

To be in with a chance to win at over 225 Toptracer locations, entrants must download the Toptracer app and land their shot within eight yards of the pin at the ‘Postage Stamp’ at Royal Troon Scotland, the most famous eighth hole in the world.

Golf is one of the most popular sports in the UK, with Toptracer seeing 600 million balls hit and almost seven million hours play time in the last 12 months. The activity comes on the back of research that suggests that almost half of British people (49%) take up new hobbies with the aim of improving their lifestyle but often fail to hold onto them for longer than a year. On average, 23% will try three new hobbies a year but 15% will give them up within a year.

The research also found that although cost is a factor in people reducing their hobbies, the British public are willing to invest £185 per year to upgrade if it will improve their capabilities or enjoyment. Time was also found to be a barrier to taking on hobbies, with 50% citing it as a reason they haven’t picked up a new pastime, with money (36%) and ability (20%) the next ranking barriers.

According to recent figures from the Department for Transport, Britons drive 7,100 miles a year on average, spending over eight days a year either as a driver or passenger in a car. DS N°8 features watchstrap leather, Focal 3D Sound System, acoustic glass and a refined electric powertrain meaning that spending time on board offers an upgraded, serene and peaceful drive.
