DS Automobiles is preparing to write another chapter in motorsport history. The French premium constructor, part of the Stellantis group, will embark on its 10th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on Saturday December 7 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
DS Automobiles first entered Formula E in Season 2 (October 2015) and quickly delivered solid results on circuits all over the world. The team won what was only its fourth race (in February 2016) and has soon become one of the leading competitors in the 100% electric championship. The first Generation 2 car completed the team and driver championship double title win, sealed with Jean-Eric Vergne in Season 5 2018/2019. This feat would be repeated the following with a second double title (teams’ and drivers’) courtesy of Antonio Felix Da Costa.
Heading into its 10th season of Formula E, the brand has achieved 121 races and four championship titles (teams’ and drivers’) as well as 16 wins, 51 podium finishes and 24 pole positions. Now, after two years of intense work, the DS Performance team is ready for its latest car, the DS E-TENSE FE25, to take to the track in Sao Paulo. This is the Gen3 Evo car at the forefront of electric technology, which will be driven by Jean-Eric Vergne, Formula E’s only two-time champion, and the talented German Maximilian Günther.
The DS Performance crews have worked hard to constantly increase their efficiency on the track This has enabled DS Automobiles to accelerate its electrification programme by enriching the range of self-charging HYBRID powerplants on the DS 3 and DS 4. This will be followed by a 100% electric DS 4, alongside the 100% electric DS 3. In December, the brand will launch the brand-new all-electric luxury SUV DS N°8 that offers an exceptional range of 466 miles (750 kilometres). All these developments share the same goal: to accelerate the rapidly changing needs of the automobile industry.
The goal for DS Automobiles in Season 11 is clear: secure the maximum number of podiums and compete at the highest level together with its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT.
The first race of Season 11 will take place in Sao Paulo (Brazil) on Saturday at 18:00 CET.
Olivier François, DS Automobiles CEO:
“With the pioneering nature of our company when it comes to electrification being perfectly aligned with the technological spirit of the championship, our long-term engagement in Formula E was a natural step. The platform provided by the championship helps us on the technical side, but also when it comes to marketing. Our many wins and our four titles have helped to bolster our reputation on an international scale. On top of that, our all-electric single seaters are fantastic accelerators of technological development. Every owner of an electrified DS road car today benefits from our Formula E campaign.”
