The SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub of Mirafiori, in Turin, is hosting a new event dedicated to ‘Stellantis Philanthropy,’ the program that reflects Stellantis’ ongoing commitment to supporting education and local community initiatives
On Tuesday, March 3, a group of students from Turin’s Ilaria Alpi lower secondary school visited the SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori, where they engaged with industry experts and took part in a creative workshop using components sourced from end-of-life vehicles. The initiative is part of “Stellantis Philanthropy,” the global program aimed to support education, early career guidance and promote community focused activities in the areas where Stellantis operates. Between February and March 2026, in collaboration with the non-profit organization Next Level, the program will involve 26 lower secondary schools across six Italian regions (Piedmont, Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania, Molise and Basilicata), reaching a total of 3,000 students. Next Level is a Turin based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students’ right to education that, together with Stellantis, will deliver STEM workshops and bring into schools the insights and testimonies from Group professionals as well as representatives of the Women of Stellantis association.

TURIN, March 4, 2026 – Yesterday, a group of students from Turin’s Ilaria Alpi Middle School visited the SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori, Turin. Established in 2023, the Hub is designed to extend the lifespan of components and vehicles by applying at industrial level the 4R strategy— Remanufacturing, Repair, Reuse and Recycle — through three core activities: 1) Remanufacturing of engines, gearboxes and electric-vehicle batteries, offering them as sustainable and cost-effective SUSTAINera spare parts within the Stellantis Parts & Services portfolio; 2)Reconditioning of used vehicles, preparing them to re-enter the SPOTICAR network with renewed quality and reliability; 3) Dismantling of end-of-life vehicles to recover fully functional components for the SUSTAINera used parts channel or direct materials to dedicated recycling streams, helping reduce waste, the consumption of new resources and minimize the environmental footprint.
The initiative is part of “Stellantis Philanthropy,” the program that brings together all of Stellantis’ social impact activities under a single identity. The program is built on three pillars: the co-design of initiatives aimed at supporting students to stay in school and promoting academic and career guidance in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics); the engagement of employees in volunteer activities serving local communities; and the development of talent through the promotion of lifelong learning.
The young participants toured the Hub, gaining first-hand insight into the Circular Economy activities developed by Stellantis, before delving deeper into the topic of Reuse, one of the four pillars of the SUSTAINera strategy. Through a creative workshop, they worked with components recovered from end-of-life vehicles—still fully functional and typically destined for the used parts channel—transforming them into new objects to take home as a souvenir of the experience.
The aim is to educate younger generations on waste prevention, raising students’ awareness of the value of reuse, and encouraging a more responsible approach to consumption.
Commenting on the initiative, Stanislao Monfreda, Head of the SUSTAINera Circular Economy Hub, stated: “This project, which forms part of Stellantis’ philanthropic commitment, represents an initiative with strong social and environmental impact. It brings young people closer to the principles of the Circular Economy, helping to shape a more conscious and sustainability-oriented generation.”
As in this case, the activities organized by Stellantis Philanthropy together with its non-profit partners take place in high value technological environments — from Stellantis manufacturing plants to research and innovation centers, as well as dedicated learning and skills development spaces — offering young people the opportunity to engage in hands-on, educational experiences.
In collaboration with Next Level, a Turin based third sector organization that has been promoting the right to education for primary and secondary schools since 2014, Stellantis organizes STEM workshops involving its women Ambassadors — technical and scientific professionals who serve as tangible educational and career role models.
Erica Anselmino, Circular Economy Commercial Operations in Enlarged Europe, emphasized: “Through direct dialogue with students, the Ambassadors help break down gender stereotypes, make possible career paths more visible and contribute to building a more open, inclusive and aware future.”
Between February and March 2026, “Stellantis Philanthropy” initiatives will involve 26 lower secondary schools across six Italian regions, accompanying 3,000 students on an educational journey centered on early career guidance, STEM skills and a meaningful connection with the social and industrial fabric of their local communities.
