CITROËN JOINS WITH ENTHUSIASTS TO CELEBRATE THE MARQUE’S CENTENARY AT POWER MAXED MOTOFEST COVENTRY 2019

This summer, Citroën will be heading to Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry 2019 to mark 100 years of the iconic French brand over the course of the two-day event.

The Citroën Centenary Event, organised by the UK Citroën car clubs and supported by Citroën UK, will take place at Coombe Park, near Coventry, over three days from Friday 31 May. Over 1,000 vehicles representing a century of the Citroën marque are expected to be on display. On the Sunday morning (2 June) the event culminates in a mass convoy from Coombe Park into the city to become a major feature parade within MotoFest Coventry.

The cars will then be on display to the public across Coventry city centre, illustrating the rich 100-year history of the famous French marque. The display will span from the Transport Museum frontage, across the Cathedral grounds and throughout the University precincts, with four iconic vehicles displayed inside the Cathedral itself. Citroën will also display a range of models from the current line-up, including the flagship New C5 Aircross SUV.

Karl Howkins, Citroën UK Managing Director, commented: “We are really excited to be part of MotoFest Coventry this year.

“Not only is the festival a heritage event, it also showcases what is happening in the automotive world now and in the future. Celebrating our centenary here in Coventry is the perfect way to rejoice in our rich history and look to the exciting future ahead for the brand. We are equally happy to be assisting the many enthusiasts who are putting on the Citroën Centenary Event, looking after our heritage and promoting links between owners and the brand.”

Nigel Wild, Citroën Centenary Event Director, said: “The Centenary Event is the unique occasion for all Citroën owners to come together and celebrate 100 years of Citroën car manufacturing, during a weekend full of variety. Every Citroën-related vehicle – from every year – is welcome, and several hundred cars are already registered to take part, both from the UK and around the world.

“The Centenary Event aims to put the marque’s heritage and achievements on show to the public, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to do this by playing our part in the hugely-popular Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry.”

James Noble, Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry Festival Director, said: “We are honoured to have Citroën mark their centenary with a programme of exciting activities taking place across the Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry festival weekend.

“The centenary events at Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Citroën’s rich heritage, and the company’s strong and close connection to the city itself.

“We are looking forward with great excitement to the 1,000-car parade, which will provide a spectacular start to Sunday’s programme. It’s going to be one of the centrepieces in what is shaping up to be another exciting Power Maxed MotoFest Coventry event.“
