CITROËN JOINS FORMULA E WITH TWO EXCEPTIONAL DRIVERS
Citroën announces Formula E debut with a new factory team in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Jean-Éric Vergne joins the team, bringing two Formula E titles & FIA WEC experience with PEUGEOT TotalEnergies. Nick Cassidy signs on, adding multiple Formula E wins, podiums, & Japan’s prestigious ‘Triple Crown’ to the line-up.

Citroën welcomes Jean Éric Vergne and Nick Cassidy as its drivers for its Formula E debut. The two talented drivers, who have extensive experience in Formula E, will fly the brand's colours as it enters the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Jean-Éric Vergne, a 35-year-old French driver, has established himself as a leading figure in modern motorsport. After a brilliant career in national and international single-seater racing, he has made a name for himself in Formula E, becoming the first driver to win two consecutive titles. His versatility also extends to endurance racing, where he drives for PEUGEOT TotalEnergies in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), accumulating experience and performances in all categories of circuits. In summary:
- French Formula Campus and Formula Renault 2.0 Champion in 2008
- Formula 1 driver with Toro Rosso from 2012 to 2014
- Formula E debut with Andretti Autosport in 2014
- Two-time Formula E Champion
- In 2022: FIA WEC debut with PEUGEOT TotalEnergies and still driving for the team
Nick Cassidy, a 31-year-old New Zealand driver, is one of the most accomplished talents of his generation in motorsport. After promising beginnings in karting and single-seaters, he shone in Japan by winning the ‘Japanese Triple Crown’ (Super Formula, Super GT and Formula 3). In 2020, he joined Formula E, where he quickly established himself as a serious contender for the title, racking up victories and podium finishes. After two remarkable seasons with Jaguar TCS Racing, he joins Citroën Racing and also the PEUGEOT TotalEnergies team in the FIA WEC. In summary:
- Three-time champion in Japan: Formula 3, Super GT and Super Formula
- Formula E World Championship runner-up in 2022/2023, third in 2023/2024
- More than 11 victories and 25 podium finishes in Formula E
- Experience in DTM and FIA WEC alongside his single-seater career
- Considered one of the most accomplished drivers of his generation
