Citroën is showcasing its new Type Holidays camper van at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, which takes place from Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September 2023. The vehicle combines the look of the iconic Citroën Type H van with the modern features of a Citroën SpaceTourer, resulting in an interior layout that will soon be available as part of the Citroën range. Inspired by the idea of freedom and sharing, Citroen has strengthened its commitment to this fast-growing market by building on the qualities of the SpaceTourer to create the exciting Type Holidays camper.

EXPERTISE TO PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE

Ever since it was founded, Citroën has been a brand that celebrates freedom and movement, using its extensive expertise to develop practical, ingenious, and affordable models that are synonymous with leisure, escape, and adventure.

Citroën's established pedigree in the world of leisure makes it a key player in the market: the brand is the second largest supplier of motorhome-type vehicles in Europe.

The Citroën brand decided to highlight its heritage by presenting this Type-H inspired SpaceTourer vehicle, based on the work of Italian coachbuilder Caselani. This trusted Citroën partner has already created several ‘neo-retro’ body styles for various Citroën models.

‘Van life’ is a novel and increasingly popular way of travelling, and with a vehicle like the Type Holidays camper, adventurers truly stand out from the crowd. Its unique design, like its grey colour, is a nod to Citroën's Type H, the legendary ‘Tube’.

Citroën has already made several forays into camper van territory with concept vehicles such as the Hyphen, Rip Curl, and Citroënist. The brand is now looking to build on this success by expanding its business in the fast-growing camper van market. The one-off Type Holidays camper heralds a more powerful commitment from the brand through a comprehensive offering that will be available as part of the Citroën range.

All the qualities of SpaceTourer, with specific features

‘Van Life’ owes much of its success to the progress that has been made in terms of interior layout and comfort. With this vehicle, camping is now chic – in line with the ‘glamping’ trend. The Citroën Type Holidays camper offers all the advantages of the Citroën SpaceTourer: spaciousness, comfort, quiet in operation, two sliding side doors for easy access and ventilation, an independently opening tailgate window, and more. Everything that up to four people might need to get away from it all.

Citroën called on one of the world's leading specialists to kit out the camper van: Bravia Mobil. This Slovenian company gave the Citroën Type Holidays camper all the equipment needed for an ideal travel experience:

  • A pop-up roof, which allows you to stand upright in the living space inside the Citroën Type Holiday, and which houses a large bed to accommodate two people when in in night-time mode.
  • A two-row bench seat, which unfolds to become a comfortable two-person bed. This bench seat is also completely removable to free up storage space.
  • Two front seats that swivel around towards the living area of the vehicle.
  • A complete kitchenette (cooking area, sink, fridge).
  • A folding table for dining or working, and several cupboards for storage.
  • A Webasto heating system to ensure optimum temperature on-board.

On display from Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, the Citroën Type Holidays camper promises a distinctive and liberating travelling experience. With its retro exterior and modern interior, it is the ideal companion for a stylish getaway in total freedom. The Type Holidays camper will usher in a comprehensive range of camper vans that will soon be available as part of the Citroën range.
