CITROËN GRAND C4 SPACETOURER SCOOPS TOP MPV PRIZE IN WHAT CAR? USED CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2021

Citroën has dominated the “Used MPV of the Year” category in the annual What Car? Used Car of the Year Awards. Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer (2018 – present) took the overall category win, while the C4 Picasso (2014 – 2018) won at the “up to £10,000” price point in the same MPV category.

Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer beat a host of competitor models to the award win, including worthy rivals like the Ford Galaxy and BMW 2 Series Grand Tourer. The What Car? panel of expert judges praised the Grand C4 SpaceTourer for its versatile interior – which is capable of seating up to seven in total comfort. The Citroën models stylish good looks and modern technology also scored points with the judges.

Mark Pearson, used cars editor at What Car?, said: “We’re delighted to be awarding the Grand C4 SpaceTourer our Used MPV Award this year. We’ve always admired this family vehicle for its stylish looks and modern interior, and we love it for its terrific practicality too – it can be a five-seater with a cavernous boot or a seven-seater with a good-sized one. On top of that, all models are well equipped, and when you combine that with some very competitive used prices it makes for an immensely desirable package.”

Citroën’s C4 Picasso was successful too, winning at the “up to £10,000” price point in the same MPV category. The C4 Picasso took the honour thanks to its modern design and efficient line-up of petrol PureTech and BlueHDi Diesel engines. The 1.6 BlueHDi 120 in Feel trim was particularly admired by judges. Citroën C4 Picasso beat off strong competition from the likes of the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer and Volkswagen Golf SV.

Eurig Druce, Citroën UK Managing Director, said: “One of the hallmarks of a great new car is how it fares as a used model some years down the line, and it's testament to the design, practicality and build quality of our vehicles that we're still winning awards for models that have been on the market for some time. It really is great to see our MPVs recognised in this way by What Car?, for their stylish good looks, versatile interiors and overall value for money as used purchases.”

Please note In May 2018 the Grand C4 SpaceTourer nomenclature replaced the Grand C4 Picasso name.
