Citroën has continued its strong performance in the UK market, with passenger car sales up 76% in the first half of the year.
According to the latest SMMT figures, Citroën has sold 16,523 passenger cars so far in 2026, representing significant year-on-year growth.
The brand has also strengthened its position in the electric vehicle market. Electric car sales have risen by 48% year-on-year, with 4,074 units sold year-to-date. As of June 2026, Citroën holds an almost equal share of the overall car market (1.45% year-to-date) and the electric car market (1.43% year-to-date).
The performance reflects the strength of Citroën's renewed model range, including New C3, New C3 Aircross, New C4 and New C5 Aircross. The latest models continue the brand's focus on comfort, practicality and accessibility, while offering customers a choice of efficient petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
Citroën also continues to make electric mobility more affordable, with a fully electric version of every passenger car model in its range, all priced below £37,000.
Greg Taylor, Managing Director, Citroën UK, said: "Citroën's upward trajectory reflects the positive response from customers to our fully refreshed line-up. We remain committed to making mobility accessible by offering vehicles that combine comfort, affordability and electrification. Thank you to our retailers and customers who have helped deliver a successful first half of the year. We look forward to building on this momentum during the remainder of 2026."
