Alfa Romeo, as the victories at the Sydney-Hobart 605 mile and the Giraglia 243 mile testify, where it also established the new speed record with a lead of more than 1 hour and 30 minutes over the second placed boat, is currently considered the fastest boat in the world, capable of winning with both gentle and violent winds.
The Fastnet race is its last big challenge before it returns to the Mediterranean for a number of races off Sardinia.
