From the 12th to 15th of September, the Domaine du Château de Chantilly in Hauts-de-France will host the seventh edition of Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille where the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will make its French debut. Since its inception in 2014, Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille revives the concours d’élégance tradition which originated in France in the 1920s. This prestigious event has gained prominence, rivaling renowned events like Pebble Beach (USA) and Villa d’Este (Italy).
Alfa Romeo will honour the occasion by showcasing three models. The models on display are Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the iconic 1971 33 Spider Cuneo prototype, and the all-new Junior. The cars will be displayed in the elegant Jardin à la Française, designed by André Le Nôtre.
Visitors will also be given the opportunity to enjoy test drives of the Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale and Junior. Alfa Romeo has previously had a strong presence at the event with cars belonging to private collectors, even winning Best of Show in 2016 with a 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Berlinetta Touring.
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: daring to dream
The original 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, born from courage and vision. Today, with the same spirit, Alfa Romeo has crafted the new 33 Stradale, blending beauty and technology to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. Limited to a select group of enthusiasts, the car was created at the Alfa Romeo Bottega, where designers, engineers, and historians collaborated directly with buyers, reminiscent of the Renaissance workshops and 20th-century Italian coachbuilders.
Alfa Romeo 33 Spider Cuneo – 1971
In 1971, Pininfarina unveiled the 33 Spider “Cuneo” at the Brussels motor show, a striking prototype built on the Alfa Romeo 33 chassis. Featuring a wedge-shaped design with sharp, angular lines, the Cuneo was a futuristic interpretation of the 33 Stradale, first introduced in 1968 with bodywork by Franco Scaglione. This prototype used the chassis that had already given rise to the P33 Roadster, the bodywork of which was dismantled and replaced by a perfect wedge shape with taut and angular lines. The few round edges left on the mudguard hinted at the width of the tyres, while the only truly curved part was the windscreen which wrapped around like the visor of a helmet and rose slightly from the taut lines of the sides.
Alfa Romeo Junior, sportiness goes compact
Also being showcased at the French event, the new Alfa Romeo Junior is a stylish, technologically advanced compact car. It is available with a choice of fully-electric powertrains, the 156hp Elettrica and the 280hp Veloce. The Junior is available to order now from Alfa Romeo retailers priced from £33,895 OTR for the Junior Elettrica.
