Alfa Romeo reveals limited-edition athleisure collection inspired by Junior Veloce for high performance style

Alfa Romeo has created a limited-edition athleisure collection inspired by the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, the first fully electric vehicle from the iconic automotive brand.

The capsule collection, co-created with AGRO Studio, represents the high performance and sophisticated design aesthetics synonymous with Alfa Romeo. Each garment has been crafted to reflect the colours and contours of the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and epitomises the brands chic Italian roots, hailing from the Italian Capital of fashion, Milan, 115 years ago.

The launch comes off the back of research that reveals one in six (16%) Brits wear Athleisure almost every day with almost one in five (18%) even admitting to wearing it on Christmas day. Research by Alfa Romeo also revealed that comfort was the top reason (69%) cited for wearing athleisure, while 40% choose to wear it for ‘ease’ and one in five (21%) wear it because they like the aesthetic.

The eight-piece collection has been created in partnership with AGRO Studio, an East London based atelier. Founded in 2021 by George Oxby and Angus Cockram, AGRO Studio is a design house rooted in craftsmanship, experimentation and narrative-driven design.

The collection comprises a hoodie, cropped bomber, trench coat, skort, compression t-shirt, running shorts, sports bra and leggings, the collection features innovative fabrics and subtle details that nod to the materials found in the interior of the Junior Veloce. Accents of Alfa Red, synonymous with the passion and performance of Alfa Romeo are incorporated through piping and ombre effect, which also highlight the contours found in the car through sculptural shapes.  

Paying homage to the Alfa Romeo birthplace, the Milan bomber jacket and trench coat feature a lining illustrating a city map of Milan, while both items reference the rear lights and ‘coda tronca’ (truncated tail) of Junior with a delicate ‘Alfa Red’ piping detailing on the back. The shape of the details on the front of the sports bra and the hemline of the leggings reflect the famous Alfa Romeo Scudetto.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce embodies the brand’s sporty attitude in a compact car. It is based on the usual Alfa Romeo formula, pairing style with performance. It has best-in-class driving dynamics, an electric powertrain with up to 205-miles of range (WLTP) – with the distinctive design typical of the brand's stylistic tradition.

Ombre Compression top
