Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce now open for orders as brand confirms hybrid version to come to the UK

Alfa Romeo has opened orders for the 280hp Veloce variant of Junior and has also confirmed that the hybrid version of Junior, the Ibrida, will also go on sale in the UK in 2025.  Junior Veloce represents the epitome of Italian sportiness and has been developed to bring the Alfa Romeo DNA to the brand’s first electric car.

Powered by a 280hp electric motor delivering 345 Nm of torque, Junior Veloce is capable of up to 215 miles of range (WLTP, provisional – subject to final homologation) and can charge from 20-80% in less than 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger. It also benefits from a Torsen limited-slip differential, 25mm lower suspension and upgraded brakes to give it best-in-class handling, road feel and overall driving dynamics. The development of the car was overseen by the same team responsible for creating iconic models such as the 4C, 8C, Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Their expertise ensures that the Junior Veloce features the driving feel and dynamics expected of an Alfa Romeo.

Junior Veloce features steering with a calibration ratio of 14.6 for enhanced feedback, lowered sports suspension by 25mm to improve cornering stability and an upgraded braking system with 380mm front discs and four-piston monobloc calipers for outstanding braking performance. The Torsen differential ensures optimal traction and control across various driving conditions.

Veloce enhances the sportiness of the standard Junior Elettrica with 20-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, bi-colour black roof, dark tinted rear windows, red painted brake calipers and sports styling kit with diamond black Scudetto. Inside, Spiga vinyl and fabric six-way electrically operated driver’s seat with massage function, leather steering wheel, sports pedals and kick plates are all standard.

Two option packs are also available, Technology and Sport. The Technology pack features include Level 2 autonomous driving, handsfree electric tailgate, LED Matrix lights and connected navigation with virtual assistant. Sport pack offers the best in sportiness with Sabelt seats, Alcantara upholstery and sporty exterior features.

Junior Ibrida confirmed for the UK

Junior Ibrida offers a 136hp 48-V Hybrid VGT (Variable-Geometry Turbo) architecture. The electrical component consists of a 48-volt lithium-ion battery and a 21-kW electric motor built into the innovative 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which works together with the inverter and transmission control unit to ensure maximum efficiency. Junior Ibrida therefore offers an extremely smooth driving experience to move around the city in electric mode when parking, at low speeds and when the engine is under light load.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce is now available to order, priced from £42,295 OTR or £399 per month on PCP, with first customer deliveries expected in Q1 next year.
