Lancia op IAA Frankfurt 2013

Lancia Voyager S and Lancia Delta MY 14 debut at Frankfurt 2013

Lancia has chosen Frankfurt to introduce the Voyager S and the Delta MY 14, which will be available to purchase on the major European markets from January 2014. Strutting their stuff on the German catwalks will be the Lancia Ypsilon Special Editions, the Elefantino and the 'S MOMODESIGN'.

Lancia Voyager S

  • The new trim level for the benchmark of the Large MPV segment
  • New Glossy black chrome plated front grille and new glossy black 17" alloy rims
  • Fabric and black leather with grey stitching and glossy black finish for the inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel

Lancia has chosen Frankfurt to introduce the new Voyager S which both completes the model series, offering an alternative with a more modern style, and also extends the 'S' range - until now comprising of the Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN and the Delta S by MOMODESIGN - expressing Lancia's 'urban chic' nature - a new form of modern elegance, versatile and creative, the fruit of the blending of urban - open-minded, relaxed and expressive - with chic - sophisticated, distinctive and high quality.

Into this context comes the Lancia Voyager S, which will be available to purchase from January 2014 on all European markets. On the outside, the new version is characterised by the brand new glossy black chrome plated front grille, new 17" glossy black alloy wheels and the 'S' logo on the tailgate The same stylistic language is to be found on the inside too, characterised by black leather and fabric with grey stitching, the same as on the front door panels, gloss black trim on the dashboard and steering wheel inserts and the 'S' logo on the front seat backrests.

With the new S version, the Lancia Voyager confirms its position as the benchmark of the large MPV segment and the perfect expression of space shared between emotion and travel experience. Depending on the market, the range is made up of three trim levels (Silver, Gold and Platinum) and two engines: the new 178 HP 2.8L turbodiesel and the 283 HP 3.6L V6 Pentastar petrol engine.

All trim levels come with a wealth of standard equipment, including 17" alloy wheels and roof rails (black on the S trim level and chrome-plated on the Platinum trim level), while the passenger compartment features front and rear seats upholstered in top quality leather (which are heated and electrically adjustable on the S and Platinum trim levels). The steering wheel with audio controls and gear lever knob are also upholstered in leather.

The interior of the Voyager was designed to reflect a cosy and comfortable living room. It is both sturdy and flexible thanks to the Stow'n Go system  which comes as standard on the entire range. The system allows the second and third rows of seats to be stowed away inside the floor, providing a record capacity of 4100 litres. On the Platinum trim level, the third row seats can also be folded down using the electric controls.

Completing the standard equipment of the Lancia Voyager, depending on the trim level and the market, are more than 40 active and passive safety features (ESC, 6 airbags, cruise control, fog lights, automatic headlights, Blind Spot and Cross Path detection and active pedestrian protection). A recent addition to the wealth of standard equipment throughout the entire range is the electronic Trailer Sway Damping system, designed to detect sudden movements of the trailer and help to correct the situation. This innovative system means that the Lancia Voyager can now tow a caravan or trailer in total safety.

The Voyager is also rich in content which ensures optimum on-board comfort and travelling pleasure, including the automatic three-zone climate control system, electric seat and pedal adjustment, and the U-ConnectTM hands-free system with iPod/MP3 that integrates the navigation function and the rear camera for parking assistance. And last but certainly not least, the sophisticated 'Dual DVD/Blue-Ray Entertainment System', is the exclusive extra option that includes a DVD/Blue-ray player with double 9" screen on roof for the second and third row passengers, two wireless headsets, remote control, and dual audio/video input for connecting external players.

The door mirrors (heated), the side doors (as standard on the S and Platinum) and the tailgate are also electrically adjustable.  The audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer and up to 506 W of total power also comes as standard on the Platinum trim level.  Even when it comes to music performance, the Lancia Voyager has everything it takes to create all the thrills you want on your every journey.

Finally, the Lancia model is available with two engines that offer engineering and performance combined to deliver comfort beyond compare, to enhance your travelling experience even further: the powerful 283 HP Pentastar V6 3.6 petrol and the brilliant 2.8 turbodiesel in the new 178 HP version. Both engines are combined as standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter that offers closer spacing between the gears, limiting engine speed changes between the different transmission ratios and guaranteeing smoother engagements suited to all driving situations.

Specifically, the new 2.8 turbodiesel common-rail 178 HP engine (131 kW) is distinguished by a particularly favourable fuel supply system due to the maximum torque of 360 Nm available over a very extensive operating range (from 1400 to 3400 rpm), offering greater flexibility and responsiveness in any driving conditions. The four-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshaft with belt control is equipped with a high pressure 1800 bar common rail injection system with piezoelectric injectors and a variable geometry turbocharger.

Other features of the new Lancia Voyager's 178 HP 2.8 turbodiesel engine include the new intake manifold made of composite material with electronic turbulence control, an EGR exhaust gas recirculation system, reduced friction O-rings, oil and exhaust gas temperature sensors, diesel particulate filter (DPF) and further adjustments to reduce noise, vibrations and rigidity (NVH) and to guarantee improved driving comfort. The Lancia Voyager 178 HP 2.8 turbodiesel reaches 193 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds. Its fuel consumption on the type-approved combined cycle is 7.9 l/100 km while CO2 emissions are 207 g/km.

On display in Frankfurt will be a Lancia Voyager S - with 'Billet Silver' livery and black leather/fabric upholstery with S logo on the front seat backrests - and a Lancia Voyager Platinum in the distinctive 'Maximum Steel' colour option, with an elegant black leather and Alcantara interior. Both vehicles are equipped with the new 2.8 turbodiesel common-rail 178 HP (131 kW) engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Lancia Delta MY 14

  • Side skirts and bumpers in body colour, twin chrome exhaust pipes and interiors with new matt and glossy black trim
  • 4 trim levels (Steel, Silver, Gold and the 'S by MOMODESIGN' special series), 3 engine versions (1.6 MultiJet 105HP, 1.6 MultiJet 120HP and 1.4 Turbo-Jet LPG 120HP), 19 body colour choices - including 9 two-tone options - and 7 different 16'', 17'' and 18'' alloy rims

The Lancia Delta Model Year 2014 will make its debut in Frankfurt, available to purchase on the major European markets from January 2014.  A refinement of the Lancia range's compact flagship, the updated version offers innovative aesthetic features designed to satisfy a male metropolitan customer looking for style and personality.

On the outside, the Delta MY 14 features side skirts and body coloured front and rear bumpers, as well as twin chrome exhaust pipes. The inside has been modernised, with trim on the central console in glossy black, like the climate control display, and matt back for the steering wheel insert, instrument panel, buttons and central console trims.

Of course, the strengths of the model remain unchanged, a model which has offered a new car concept right from its launch in 2008, bringing the attributes of a flagship vehicle to segment C. Into its 4.5 metres, the Lancia Delta MY14 packs all the elegance, luxury and interior space of a higher category: the rear seats recline into chaise-longues, the upholstery reveals quality textures and passengers are cocooned by an almost magical comfort and silence on every journey. The Lancia Delta thus fulfils the modern requirements of mobility and prestige thanks to the concept of "downsizing" - ensuring performance and luxury of a superior level at reduced cost, size and fuel consumption levels.

The passenger compartment offers a genuine lounge area - the model is at the top of its segment for rear passenger comfort - thanks in part to a sliding rear seat with reclining backrest (it can be tilted to 25°) that allows the already spacious boot (380 litres, 465 with the sliding rear seats, 724 litres with the rear seats folded) to be extended. Alternatively, the seat can be pushed back and tilted for total relaxation: the Lancia Delta is the only hatchback saloon to offer the possibility of adjusting the rear seat backrest and sliding the seat.

Depending on the country of sale, the new Lancia Delta MY 2014 range is available in 4 trim levels (Steel, Silver, Gold and the Special Series 'S by MOMODESIGN'), with 3 engine options (1.6 MultiJet 105 HP, 1.6 MultiJet 120 HP and 1.4 Turbo-Jet LPG 120 HP), and a 6-speed manual gearbox, 19 body colour choices - including 9 two-tone options - and 7 different 16", 17" and 18" alloy wheels.

From the extensive content of the Delta MY 14 model, some highlights are the "Absolute Handling System" - an evolution of ESP - which guarantees perfect control of the car and optimises its stability in all driving conditions as well as the "Magic Parking" assist system, which helps the driver to locate a parking spot suitable for the car and then prepares the parking manoeuvre by turning the steering wheel automatically.

The special series 'S by MOMODESIGN' certainly deserves a mention, the result of renewed collaboration between Lancia and MOMODESIGN, two brands which have contributed to the development of Italian design. The new version is a concrete example of how an "automotive object" can be reinterpreted in an aesthetic key by the MOMODESIGN Style Centre, highlighting the expressive features that have always distinguished Lancia - elegance and temperament - and blending them with the feisty and distinctive character of the Milan brand, the expression of Italian style and design.

Those same features are what distinguish the Delta Turbo LPG, an engine which, according to the 'Bi-fuel. Be Ecochic' principle, ensures an innovative concept in the world of eco-friendly cars: exclusive, but accessible; spacious, but compact; full of life, but economical. The Lancia Delta LPG Ecochic Turbo is equipped with the 120 HP 1.4 Turbo bi-fuel engine that boasts category topping performance and running costs. With maximum power of 120 HP (88 kW) at 5000 rpm and maximum torque of 206 Nm (21 kgm) at 1750 rpm, the Ecochic version reaches a top speed of 195 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds.

Lancia Ypsilon, 'The' Fashion City Car

  • 'Taste of the City', a spectacular journey to discover some of Europe's most fashionable cities
  • Ypsilon Elefantino and Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN at Frankfurt

With the Ypsilon - Lancia's Fashion City Car  - the Brand will be driving Frankfurt Motor Show visitors to discover the latest trends in the world of design, fashion and food-tainment.

'Taste of the City' is an exciting voyage aboard the Ypsilon by three 'trend hunters' who digitally tell us about the liveliest cities to discover everything which, in a metropolitan context, is not only modern and cutting edge, but is also capable of bringing together an urban nature with Lancia's chicest soul.

An interactive project that adopts the graphics of electronic devices, with the aim of drawing the user into an exclusive experience. The user can explore and delve into the content on the Ypsilon, in its various versions, contact the bloggers virtually and see the places they've visited. An installed composition of small screens on the wall of Lancia's stand at the show displays the trendiest events through a video in the form of "stolen shots", a shoot with an exciting pace which uses the language of video clips and fashion photography, combining a range of expressive techniques: from graphic animation of texts to 'stop motion' and video projection of images.

Ypsilon Elefantino: glamour and accessibility for young women drivers

The Elefantino name has been associated with the Ypsilon since 1997, when the version made its first appearance, offering an accessible price tag with bags of appeal for young people. Today, the Elefantino theme has been re-interpreted in a contemporary key. In terms of styling, the new Ypsilon Elefantino is designed to appeal primarily to young women drivers, thanks to the neon and glossy black detailing and the new "urban look" interiors.

Continuing in the tradition of the version, this latest Elefantino special series is an accessible style choice: offered as an alternative to the Silver version, today the "entry level" vehicle comes with all the content a young driver could possibly expect as standard: climate control system, radio with CD and MP3 player, and leather steering wheel and gear lever knob. In terms of safety, the vehicle offers ABS with EBD, ESP, front and side airbags, as well as Isofix attachments as standard.

Depending on the market, the Ypsilon Elefantino comes with a full range of engines with manual gearboxes: the 1.2 69 HP, 0.9 Turbo TwinAir 85 HP, 1.3 MultiJet 95 HP, 1.2 69 HP LPG and the 0.9 Turbo TwinAir Methane 80 HP. The TwinAir Methane option was recently voted "Green Engine of the Year".

Since its introduction in April, the Elefantino has already accounted for 30% of the Ypsilon sales mix, and has proved particularly popular with young people. It has attracted double the number of customers between the ages of 18 and 25 than other Ypsilon versions, and 75% of its buyers are women. To consolidate the Elefantino's success, Lancia recently introduced a new customisation: the exclusive turquoise colour complete with neon turquoise trims and turquoise Elefantino badge.

The Elefantino special series is the epitome of city style, as demonstrated by its refined exterior colour schemes: Sabbia Beige, Neve White, Pietra Grey, Vulcano Black, Aurora Purple and, of course, the new Turquoise option, all combinable, on request, with a glossy black tailgate.

To emphasise the Elefantino's glamorous soul, its exclusive colour schemes are enhanced by detailing such as same-colour handles and neon (fuchsia or turquoise) trim on the mirror covers, specially designed black wheel hubs and Elefantino tailgate logo.

It boasts a casual  interior featuring leather steering wheel, chrome dashboard trim and black fabric seats with fuchsia or turquoise stitching. The same colour stitching also appears on the gear lever and head restraints, matching the colour of the exterior detailing on the mirror covers, wheel hubs and Elefantino tailgate logo. Finally, the tone-on-tone stickers on the central pillars and the characterisation of the dashboard and seats draw on the 'metropolitan' style, with graphics dedicated to the trendiest European cities.

Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN: sporting spirit and a two-tone colour scheme for urban young men

Available to purchase from July this year, the Ypsilon 'S MOMODESIGN' traces its origins back to 2005 when two of Italy's top names in design joined forces to combine the refined elegance of Lancia with the high-tech, sporting spirit of MOMODESIGN.

The new Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN is styled to appeal to men too. Its stylistic high impact design is characterised by a two-tone colour scheme and a sporty, customised look. The car also boasts a highly competitive price tag.

Depending on the market, customers can further personalise their cars by choosing from three single colour variants (Argilla Red, Vulcano Black and Neve White) and five two-tone variants. The matt black tailgate, roof and mirrors on all variants contrast perfectly with the Neve White, Vulcano Black, Argilla Red, Pietra Grey or the new Zaffiro Blue body colour schemes. Completing the Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN's 'outfit' are the new design rear bumper with chrome inserts, body coloured door handles, MOMODESIGN tone on tone graphics on the central pillars and original 15" black alloy wheels (matt black 16" wheels are available as an option).

The same sporty look is carried over to the interior, which features dark upholstery combined with a black dashboard and door panels, exclusive seats in special high-tech sail fabric with MOMODESIGN graphics electrowelded on the backrests, and grey stitching on the steering wheel and gear lever boot. The burnished dashboard trim adds another touch of elegance, while the yellow instrument panel graphics confirm the car's sporting pretensions.

The Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN offers a choice of engines: 1.2 Fire EVO II 69 HP, 1.2 Fire EVO II LPG 69 HP, 0.9 TwinAir 85 HP (with manual or robotised sequential gearbox) and the 1.3 MultiJet II turbo diesel 95 HP. Each engine offers different features, but all options ensure versatility, sporting spirit and advanced technology, optimised by their transmission systems. All the engines share the same exceptional reliability and respect for the environment.

The following content is available as standard: manual climate control system, remote central locking, leather gear lever knob and height adjustable steering wheel, electric front windows, 50/50 split rear seat, electric rear view mirrors and radio with CD/MP3 player. To maximise safety, the Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN is fitted with ABS + EBD, ESP with ASR and Hill Holder, front and side airbags, and Isofix attachments as standard, depending on the market.

The Lancia stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013

The 'Taste Of The City' concept is reflected in the whole of the Lancia stand, characterised by a continuous stream of winding curves in white leather alternating with black reflective surfaces, creating exhibition spaces, surfaces and volumes conveying the brand's quality and elegance, with an added urban edge. The front columns give way to a sophisticated play on lines which frame the large central LED wall. The flooring has harmonious lines linking black to white, glossy to matt and guiding visitors as they discover the exhibition space.

On display at the stand set up in Frankfurt will be a Lancia Voyager S - with 'Billet Silver' livery and black leather/fabric upholstery with S logo on the front seat backrests - and a Lancia Voyager Platinum in the distinctive 'Maximum Steel' colour option, with an elegant black leather and Alcantara interior. Both vehicles are equipped with the new 2.8 turbodiesel common-rail 178 HP (131 kW) engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

There will also be a Delta MY 14 Gold with a 1.6 MultiJet 120 HP engine, characterised, on the outside, by elegant two-tone livery (Anthracite Grey and Gloss Black), Xenon headlights and "Gran Luce" sunroof. The inside boasts perforated black leather upholstery, as well as an Instant Nav satellite navigation system, Blue&Me, and rain and dusk sensors. The model on show is further customised with some accessories from Mopar® - the Fiat and Chrysler Groups' Parts & Service and Customer Care Division - such as the chrome mirror covers, velour mats, sports pedal unit and special kick plate.

Visitors to the stand will also be able see two Lancia Ypsilons up close, both equipped with the 1.2 Fire EVO II 69 HP engine with Start&Stop. The first vehicle is the Elefantino version - characterised by a Purple livery which is also reflected in the neon trims and the Elefantino badge - and the second is an exclusive 'S MOMODESIGN' with two-tone Zaffiro Blue/Matt Black body.

The Lancia exhibition at the Frankfurt Motor Show will be topped off with an example of the  Lancia Thema: a "Granite Crystal" grey executive model with 20" alloy wheels, equipped with the powerful 3.6L V6 Pentastar 286 HP engine. The interior features beige leather upholstery, a leather dashboard and the 506 W Alpine Audio system.

Finally, visitors will be introduced to the products of FGA Capital, a finance company specialising in the automotive sector, through illustrative materials and dedicated media at the stand. The finance company operates on all the major European markets, and in Germany with FGA Bank, with a sole mission: supporting the sales of all Fiat Group Automobiles brand vehicles by offering innovative financial products with high added value services targeted to the dealership network, private customers and companies.
