(MIDRAND, FRIDAY APRIL 17, 2026) – The DPAN (Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited) greenfields plant at Kaduna, built four years ago in northern Nigeria, has started production on the assembly of the new PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008 range. With the PEUGEOT Landtrek pick‑up already on sale, these two new models will further extend the brand’s offering to local customers. The first vehicles are expected to go on sale next month, offered in Allure and top‑of‑the‑range GT trims and powered by a 1.6‑litre THP petrol engine developing 163 hp, paired with the EAT6 automatic transmission.

DPAN was established six years ago through a joint venture between Dangote Industries Limited and PEUGEOT as a commitment to local manufacturing. “Nigeria is one of the two biggest economies in Africa and helping create a local and sustainable automotive industry is part of the actualization of the African Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). We are happy to continue the work with Dangote Industries and believe the arrival of the new products will cater to the needs of our Nigerian customers” said Michael Whitfield, Stellantis South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa Managing Director.

DPAN commercial director Umar Kaita commented on the start of production: “PEUGEOT was a household name in Nigeria from the 1940s to the 1980s and this local production will see the re-emergence of the (PEUGEOT) Lion in the Nigerian landscape once again.”
