Launch of the Opel Brand in Algeria
Opel and HCI announce the launch of three models in Algeria: Opel Mokka, Astra and Grandland. Opel models will be available for purchase starting from November 19through a distribution network that will cover 20 wilayas by December 2023. With this complementary range, Stellantis enhances its offering in Algeria to meet the mobility needs of Algerian drivers.

Algiers, November 15, 2023 – Opel and HCI announced today the launch of the Opel brand in Algeria. This announcement took place during a ceremony attended by Mr. Ali Aoun, the Algerian Minister of Industry, Mr. Florian Huettl, Chief Executive Officer of Opel Automobile GmbH, Mr. Nassim Benguergoura, General Manager of HCI, and Mr. Hakim Boutehra, Managing Director of Stellantis Maghreb.
This launch marks the return of Stellantis's iconic brand Opel to the Algerian market, ushering in a new era of mobility that combines German modernity, sculptural design and ecological innovation.
With a distinctive identity, Opel's models will bring a breath of modernity to the Algerian automotive market and will be available for purchase from November 19 in all Stellantis multi-brand showrooms, which previously distributed Fiat models nationwide.
“Today is a great day for the Opel brand, which returns to Algeria. I am convinced that our state-of-the-art vehicle portfolio will delight Algerian customers and meet a wide range of mobility needs. Opel stands for German engineering, bold and pure design and efficient powertrains,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl in Algiers.

- This sixth generation of the famous German compact car is a technological marvel, incorporating the fully digital Pure Panel cockpit.
- A true design gem with the Opel Vizor, the Opel Astra is the winner of the Red Dot Award 2023 in the product design category as well as the Golden Steering Wheel 2022– the most prestigious car award in Germany.
- It is available in Elegance and GS Line versions with the multiple award-winning 1.2-liter petrol engine producing 130 hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission (BVA).
- It is offered in Vulkan Gray, Crystal Gray, Arctic White, and Karbon Black, starting from [4 319 000] DZD.
- This urban crossover with stunning lines redefines design concepts and elevates the driving experience to another level. The Opel Mokka won the Golden Steering Wheel 2021.
- Available in Elegance and GS Line versions with a 1.2-liter petrol engine producing 130 hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission (BVA).
- It is offered in Arctic White, Kontrast Gray, Karbon Black, starting from [3 849 000] DZD.
- Unprecedented in Algeria, the Grandland is a high-end SUV with a bold style and a wealth of equipment.
- It is available in GS Line version, equipped with a 1.6-liter petrol engine producing 165 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
- It is offered in Arctic White, Kontrast Gray, Karbon Black, starting from [4 689 000] DZD.
