Leapmotor arrives in Morocco and opens a new chapter in electric mobility

Casablanca, Morocco – September 17, 2025 – Stellantis Morocco announces the introduction of Leapmotor brand, a Chinese manufacture that is a pioneer in the world of smart electric vehicles.

Founded in 2015 by Jiangming Zhu, a visionary entrepreneur and high-tech industry expert, Leapmotor has established itself as one of the most promising start-ups in the sector in China. Thanks to its complete control of the value chain – from battery design to embedded software – the brand has conquered the Chinese market with more than 600,000 100% electric vehicles sold in less than a decade. By 2025, Leapmotor aims to reach 500,000 annual sales.

Leapmotor International, driven by the strategic joint venture with Stellantis, is embarking on an ambitious international expansion, relying on the infrastructure, distribution network and quality standards of the Stellantis group. This unprecedented alliance gives Leapmotor a significant competitive advantage in markets outside China, combining life-easying technology, accessible innovation customer proximity.

REEV technology at the service of freedom

At the heart of Leapmotor's innovation, technology REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) promises to transform the electric driving experience. This intelligent system incorporates a combustion engine dedicated exclusively to recharge the battery – with no traction on the wheels – thus guaranteeing 100% electric driving, while eliminating autonomy anxiety, a major obstacle to the adoption of electric vehicles in Morocco.

In a country in the midst of an energy transition, where charging infrastructure is gradually developing, this technology appears to be a concrete and pragmatic response to the needs of Moroccan drivers. A first appointment not to be missed

The Moroccan public will be able to discover the Leapmotor brand and its technological innovations in preview at Auto Expo 2025, the exhibition dedicated to hybrid and electric vehicles, which will be held in the Anfa-Park district of Casablanca from September 18 to 28, 2025.

But Leapmotor does not intend to stop there. The brand will gradually consolidate its presence in Morocco, driven by a clear roadmap and strong commitments to quality, accessibility and service. A rise in power designed to meet the expectations of the Moroccan market in the long term.

Leapmotor brand will be distributed in Morocco by Sopriam, Stellantis Morocco’s dedicated retail network.
