Middle East - Capability, Luxury, Performance - Jeep® Grand Cherokee, the Most Awarded SUV Ever, Delivers on All Fronts
  • Jeep® Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV ever and the vehicle that has long defined what a premium SUV should be.
  • The seven model range available in the Middle East satisfies every driving requirement, offering unparalleled Jeep capability, absolute levels of luxury and breathtaking performance.
  • Choice of engines includes the 295hp Pentastar 3.6-litre V6, 360hp 5.7-litre V8, 475hp 6.4-litre V8 and 707hp supercharged 6.2-litre V8.

Jeep® Grand Cherokee - the most awarded SUV ever and the vehicle that has long defined what a premium SUV should be - is available in the Middle East with a line-up of seven models that will satisfy every driving requirement, offering unparalleled Jeep capability, absolute levels of luxury and breathtaking performance.

The line-up - which includes the most capable factory-produced Grand Cherokee model in the form of the Trailhawk and the Summit, the most luxurious ever Grand Cherokee - also includes the pure muscle of the SRT plus the Trackhawk - the most powerful SUV ever.

Premium, refined exterior

The Grand Cherokee’s refined exterior design - complete with standard bi-xenon headlamps with signature LED daytime running lamps (DRL) - provides a premium appearance. SRT and Trackhawk models feature an aggressive, functional exterior design that optimizes airflow and cooling with the signature seven-slot upper front grille flanked by adaptive, bi-xenon headlamps.

The headlamps on the Trackhawk model also feature a unique Gloss Black background to accent their jewel-like appearance. Interior luxury is achieved with premium amenities, including Natura leather, exotic open-pore wood trim and unique colour offerings.

Fuel efficient powertrains

Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 powered models deliver 295hp and feature advanced technology including cooled Exhaust-Gas Recirculation (EGR), advanced two-step variable valve lift (VVL) system and an upgraded variable-valve timing (VVT) system, with towing capability up to 2,812 kgs and a driving range of more than 966 kms - best-in-class for petrol-powered SUVs.

And thanks to electric power steering, decreased tyre rolling resistance and weight reductions achieved through an aluminium suspension system, all Grand Cherokee V6 and 5.7-litre V8 models also offer improved fuel efficiency.

The available 5.7-litre V8 packs 360hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque with best-in-class towing capacity of 3,356 kgs.

All of Jeep Grand Cherokee’s engines are mated to FCA’s proven, smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition to enhancing fuel economy, the robust and durable eight-speed transmission delivers quick acceleration and precise, smooth shifting, enhancing ride quality to luxury car levels. An additional benefit is a low crawl ratio of 44.1:1 to aid in climbing over - or through - tough obstacles, when equipped with a two-speed transfer case. Drivers can choose to leave steering wheel paddle shifters “on” or “off” via their radio touch screen display. Steering wheel paddle shifters offer improved driver control both on- and off-road, including Electronic Range Select when using Selec-Speed Control in extreme off-road situations.

Another contributor to Grand Cherokee’s fuel economy is Eco Mode, which optimises the transmission’s shift schedule and, in V8 models, Fuel Saver cylinder deactivation technology.

Legendary Jeep Capability

Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a range of available 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac II, Quadra-Drive II and Selec-Track), plus an available Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system, all of which instill Grand Cherokee with its legendary Jeep capability.

Quadra-Lift air suspension system

Jeep Grand Cherokee rises above the road and rocks with the rugged, class-exclusive Quadra-Lift air suspension system. The Quadra-Lift system features five height settings for optimum ride performance.

Quadra-Lift adds up to 3.8 inches (96.52 mm) of lift span supported by four-corner air springs that provide a cushioned, premium ride. Quadra-Lift operates automatically or can be controlled manually with console controls.

With the front air dam removed (not available on Summit) and the available Quadra-Lift air suspension, the Grand Cherokee offers a 36.1-degree approach angle, a 27.1-degree departure angle and 22.8-degree breakover angle.

Selec-Terrain

In addition to the Quadra-Lift air suspension, the Grand Cherokee’s class-leading Selec-Terrain traction control system allows customers to choose the on- and off-road setting for optimum performance on all terrains: Sand, Mud, Auto, Snow and Rock. This feature electronically coordinates up to 12 different powertrain, braking and suspension systems, including throttle control, transmission shift, transfer case, Hill-descent Control and Selec-Speed Control. Sport Mode is engaged via a button on the centre stack and delivers enhanced on-road "fun-to-drive" capability.

Selec-Speed Control with Hill-ascent and Hill-descent Control allows drivers to control Grand Cherokee’s speed both up and down steep, rugged grades with the steering wheel paddle shifters - without the need for throttle or brake pedals. Unique to its segment, Grand Cherokee Hill-descent Control also works when the vehicle is in reverse.

Jeep Trail Rated

All Jeep Grand Cherokee models equipped with Off-road groups are Trail Rated. The Jeep Trail Rated badge on the Jeep Grand Cherokee indicates that the vehicle is designed to perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions, identified by five key consumer-oriented capability categories: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and water fording.

Exterior and interior design

All Grand Cherokees have a premium look, while simultaneously making each trim level readily identifiable at a glance. Key exterior features include front and rear LED lighting that allow Grand Cherokee to be instantly recognisable, night or day, from a great distance - the standard bi-xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps are outlined with signature LED running lamps.

And, of course, Grand Cherokee retains Jeep’s classic seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arches. The front and rear profiles feature unique lower fascias for every trim level and a large, aerodynamic rear spoiler.

The award-winning interior is clearly one of the most technically advanced, well-crafted interiors in the industry. Immediately noticeable is the Uconnect® 7-inch (177.8 mm) or available 8.4-inch (213.36 mm) touchscreen. Controls for radio and climate are found below the screen and have easily identifiable knobs and buttons. Following the centrestack down onto the centre console reveals a new leather-wrapped polystable shifter for the eight-speed transmission.

Wrapped in leather, the three-spoke steering wheel features sections of wood on Overland and Summit models. All Grand Cherokee models include standard paddle shifters mounted on the back of the steering wheel. The steering wheel is designed and positioned to provide optimal view of the gauge cluster that features a 7-inch (177.8 mm), full-colour, customisable instrument display. This screen allows drivers to select from a multitude of layout and vehicle information to be shown in the centre of the gauge cluster.

Laredo and Limited models feature dark wood trim on the dash and doors. Door handle and dash vent bezels, as well as the trim on the centre console, feature a slight gold hue to their brushed aluminium look. Premium cloth seating is standard on Laredo while Nappa leather seating is standard on Limited. Overland models have several touches like standard Nappa leather seats, stitched-leather instrument panel and available open-pore wood, which add a distinct touch of modern luxury. Wood trim is also found on the top portion of the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Rear-seat footwell and rear door-pocket ambient lighting highlight the Grand Cherokee’s interior design at night.

Grand Cherokee Summit models continue to lead the market in terms of premium interiors in the SUV segment. Premium Natura-Plus leather seating with ventilated and memory front seats, open-pore wood trim and Copper accents are available on Summit in Morocco Black or Grand Canyon Jeep Brown along with an Argentina Tan interior with black-accent stitching. Also unique to Summit is a premium suede-like material covering the A-pillars and headliner.

Another impressive feature standard on Summit, SRT and Trackhawk models - and available on the Overland - is a state-of-the-art nineteen-speaker, 825-watt high-performance Harman Kardon surround sound audio system that features a 12-channel amplifier, three sub-woofers and surrounds the occupants in high-definition sound.

All models from the Limited upwards include a CommandView dual-pane sunroof that features a power sunshade. For added passenger comfort, rear seats recline 12 degrees. There also is a 12-degree forward angle to allow 24 degrees of variation.

Cargo volume behind the second-row measures 36.3 cu. ft. (1.02 cu. m.) and includes a storage unit with grocery hooks on both sides. With the rear seats folded, there is 68.3 cu. ft. (1.93 cu. m.) of cargo capacity available. Under the cargo floor, the spare tyre compartment includes removable dual storage bins for secure storage of muddy gear or other items.

Technology

Grand Cherokee (Limited model and upwards) features the latest version of Uconnect’s 8.4-inch (213.36 mm) touchscreen that includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, higher resolution and pinch-and-zoom capability

There is also an available dual-screen Blu-ray DVD rear-seat entertainment system that includes a 9-inch (228.6 mm) screen on each front seat back. Capable of playing Blu-ray and traditional DVDs, each screen also has HDMI and RCA inputs so rear passengers can hook up their favourite gaming systems.

Safety and Security: Class-leading number of advanced features

Jeep Grand Cherokee offers more than 70 advanced safety and security features – the highest in its class. This includes features like Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation and Selec-Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), trailer-sway control (TSC), front-row active head restraints, standard full-length side-curtain air bags and standard seat-mounted side thorax air bags offer enhanced occupant protection to passengers in the event of a collision.

On-road refinement: Premium driving dynamics

Jeep Grand Cherokee is renowned for its outstanding on-road driving dynamics and quietness, thanks in part to its front and rear independent suspension. Variable-rate rear springs deliver improved on-road handling and comfort that complements the vehicle’s off-road capability. Premium on-road manners are enhanced with more than 5,400 welds in the body alone.

The independent front and rear suspension system includes isolated cradles along with variable-rate rear springs to deliver improved on-road handling and comfort while complementing Grand Cherokee’s legendary off-road capability. The rear suspension also allows the spare tyre to be stored inside the vehicle as opposed to underneath.

The steering also has been carefully calibrated to deliver exactly the right amount of assistance, whether cruising the parking lot or a twisty two-lane mountain road. Electric power steering options include Sport, Comfort and Normal.

Grand Cherokee Trailhawk: even more capability for the most-awarded SUV ever

Trailhawk is the most capable factory-produced Grand Cherokee ever. The “Trailhawk” name was first introduced on the Grand Cherokee concept vehicle that appeared at the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. The idea was to deliver a unique and more rugged appearance, with a host of functional features that provide an increased level of off-road 4x4 capability.

Grand Cherokee Trailhawk models are equipped with a host of standard off-road capability features, including Jeep’s Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) for all powertrains, a unique version of Grand Cherokee’s Quadra-Lift air suspension -developed for Trailhawk - that offers improved articulation and total suspension travel, as well as Selec-Speed Control with Hill Ascent Control. Skid plates and a Trailhawk-specific anti-glare hood decal are also standard.

Approach angles are 29.8 degrees or 36.1 degrees when the lower front fascia is removed for severe off-roading, while the breakover angle is 27.1 degrees and the departure angle is 22.8 degrees. Grand Cherokee Trailhawk models offer up to 10.8-inches (274.32 mm) of ground clearance.

The exterior features Trailhawk-signature red tow hooks in the front and rear, standard rugged 18-inch Goodyear Adventure off-road tyres with Kevlar reinforcement, Trailhawk and Trail Rated badges with red accents, mirror caps and a roof rack with Neutral Gray accents, and Mopar rock rails for added protection.

Inside, you’ll find a unique black interior with leather and suede performance seats for comfort and control, red accent stitching, brushed Piano Black appliques, gun-metal finish on all painted interior parts, a Trailhawk badge on the Jeep steering wheel, and red accent stitching on the seats, doors and console. The standard 8.4-inch (213.36 mm) Uconnect touch screen also includes updated off-road pages showing wheel articulation and other vehicle 4x4 capability features, such as suspension height and 4x4 and Selec-Terrain modes.

Grand Cherokee SRT®: a powerful performer with a luxurious, muscular skin

Grand Cherokee SRT combines SRT’s legendary muscular sports styling with breath-taking performance courtesy of a potent 6.4-litre V8 with Fuel Saver Technology that delivers 475hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Performance includes acceleration from 0-100 kph in 4.8 seconds, 0-161-0 kph in 16.3 seconds, quarter mile in the mid-13 second range and a top speed of 257 kph.

Grand Cherokee SRT has an assertive look and features a host of desirable equipment befitting the SRT badge. Unique exterior and interior styling cues enhance the car’s distinct, high-performance image and set it apart from other sporting SUVs.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT owners have come to expect - and appreciate - a vehicle that is powerful and refined, luxurious and functional, muscular and stylish - Grand Cherokee SRT checks all of those boxes, while also delivering unexpected delights.

707hp Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: the most powerful SUV ever

Injected with an unmatched 707hp courtesy of its awe-inspiring supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine, the most awarded SUV ever and the most capable full-size SUV on the planet is now also the most powerful SUV ever. It rides one inch (25.4 mm) lower than non-SRT Grand Cherokee models and is further set apart with body-coloured wheel flares, side sill cladding and a sculpted hood with dual heat extractors.

The engine is combined with an upgraded high-torque capacity TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, world-class on-road driving dynamics and new Brembo brakes - the largest standard front brakes ever offered on a Jeep vehicle - to deliver a new level of performance: 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds), quarter mile (400 metres) in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph (187 km/h), top speed of 180 mph (289 km/h), 60-0 mph braking distance in 114 feet (100-0 km/h in 37 metres) and .88 g capability on the skid pad. It’s also capable of towing 2,949 kgs.

Performance is bolstered by various upgraded driveline components engineered to handle the additional torque output from the supercharged engine. The transmission software takes into account variables such as engine torque gradients, kick-down events, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, grade changes, friction detection and downshift detection to determine the appropriate shift map.

Trackhawk is equipped with the Jeep Quadra-Trac on-demand four-wheel-drive system, which includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential and new single-speed active transfer case that uses forged steel chain sprockets and wider chain for added strength and durability.

Standard Launch Control optimises performance by coordinating the engine, transmission, driveline and suspension for a textbook launch and consistent straight-line acceleration.
