Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio named

Alfa Romeo continues to win prestigious international and regional awards, the latest of which saw the Stelvio Quadrifoglio - the brand's first SUV in over a century of Alfa Romeo history - being named 'Best Super SUV' in the 2018 Wheels Magazine Car Of The Year Awards held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on The Palm, Jumeirah in Dubai.

The editorial team of Wheels said; "More than the raw pace, it's the sheer agility, immediacy in responding to driver inputs and liveliness that makes driving the Stelvio Quadrifoglio such an exhilarating experience."

The second of a new generation of vehicles built on an all-new platform, the 2018 Stelvio epitomises Alfa Romeo's la meccanica delle emozioni (the mechanics of emotion) spirit, delivering race-inspired performance, real-world driving confidence, state-of-the-art technologies, seductive Italian style and a thrilling driving experience to the premium mid-size SUV segment.

Its all-aluminium 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol engine delivers a class-leading 510 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, reaches a top speed of 283 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

Crafted by Alfa Romeo artisans at the Cassino plant in Italy, the all-new 2018 Stelvio lineup is a testament to Alfa Romeo's perfect balance of engineering and emotion, creating an SUV for driving enthusiasts that really stands out. The interior is tailored like an exquisite bespoke suit, with craftsmanship and premium materials - carbon fibre, leather and Alcantara.

The award-winning Stelvio bears the legendary Quadrifoglio badge, which certifies its quality in terms of class-topping performance, handling and weight/power ratio, specific external and internal features, exclusive powerplant and a genuine Alfa Romeo sound - it also recently set a new lap record for its class on the iconic Nürburgring: 7 minutes 51.7 seconds.

This latest accolade adds to the growing success of Alfa Romeo's latest models, which have claimed numerous industry awards since their launch last year.
