SAFEX – Algiers, December 18, 2025 — Stellantis is taking part in the 33rd edition of the Algerian Production Fair (FPA), held at the SAFEX Exhibition Center in Algiers. This participation coincides with the second anniversary of its FIAT plant in Tafraoui, which has marked major milestones in the development of Algeria’s automotive industry.
On this occasion, Stellantis is showcasing on its stand the new Fiat Grande Panda, the first passenger vehicle produced in CKD format in Algeria’s history, illustrating the full range of parts and components currently being localized as part of the local integration roadmap.
Since its inauguration on December 11, 2023, the FIAT Tafraoui plant has achieved several structuring milestones for the national automotive ecosystem. It has produced 70,000 vehicles, created more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, and developed a localization portfolio of over 300 part references for industrial production and 350 for the aftermarket network.
In September 2025, less than two years after the production of the first Fiat 500 in Algeria, the industrial site launched the production of the first Fiat Grande Panda body shells in its fully operational body-in-white and paint shops. This unprecedented milestone for the national automotive industry will enable FIAT to achieve a local integration rate of 30% on this model as early as 2026.
Skills development also represents a major strategic focus for Stellantis. Its employees have benefited from more than 430,000 hours of training. In the same spirit, Stellantis has established five academic partnerships with Algerian universities and leading engineering schools, with the aim of creating dedicated tracks for the mechanical industry and offering students hands-on immersion in a cutting-edge industrial environment.
This initiative fully reflects the Group’s commitment to investing in tomorrow’s talent and to contributing sustainably to the structuring of Algeria’s automotive industry.
