  • Testing of the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa has just ended at the iconic Balocco Proving Ground, where the highest-performance Alfa Romeo cars have been developed and tuned up since 1962. The emotive video can be viewed here.
  • Developed as part of the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE universe and the first product resulting from the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa, the high-performance sedan is the most aerodynamically efficient Quadrifoglio model ever, made possible by the new carbon-fiber kit that generates up to 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, with an aerodynamic load five times higher than the standard version.
  • The car’s body and interior are reminiscent of the Luna Rossa AC75 boat that took part in the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona in 2024.
  • The Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa will be on display at the Luna Rossa base in Cagliari during the Preliminary Regatta Sardinia May 21-24, alongside the team due to take part with two Foiling One Design AC40 vessels.

The Alfa Romeo engineering team have just completed an intense test session on the track aboard the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa, the new limited series made in only ten units worldwide, all of which have already been sold. The only possible venue for the event was the Alfa Romeo track at the Balocco Proving Ground, the iconic track that since 1962 has hosted the development and preparation of the Biscione brand’s highest-performance racing cars and the models used in F1, DTM and Super Turismo competitions.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa is clearly no exception, having taken the production Quadrifoglio's abilities to the limit. To follow fine-tuning and virtual decision-making based on computational aerodynamics, the tests run on the Balocco track made it possible to transform the calculation results into driving sensations, an integral part of the development cycle of Alfa Romeo's DNA. To mark this event, an emotive video has been produced – available for viewing here. It captures the high-performance sedan in its natural habitat, on the racetrack, the only place where the promises made by engineering can become emotion.

Developed as part of the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE universe, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa perfectly embodies its philosophy – to create unique, technologically advanced machines deeply rooted in Italian excellence – and is the first concrete product resulting from the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa, due to face the challenge together at the 38th America's Cup in the iconic Bay of Naples. In terms of aerodynamics, it is the most efficient Quadrifoglio model ever: the new low-drag kit in carbon fiber – consisting of appendages on the front bumper, a pair of profiles on the bottom of the bodywork, dedicated side skirts, and the spectacular rear wing – generates up to five times more downforce than the production version, ensuring exceptional stability at all speeds. At 300 km/h, it reaches a peak of 140 kg downforce with very high aerodynamic efficiency values.

The exteriors are embellished with an iridescent paint, inspired by the colors of the AC75 Luna Rossa boat that took part in the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona in 2024, while the two-tone contrast – bonnet, roof and rear in black combined with gray – enhances the sculpted lines, conveying an unprecedented, sporty elegance. The Alfa Romeo logos come in red, a symbol of passion and competitive spirit. Inside, the Sparco seats stand out, upholstered with textures and graphics inspired by the Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) used by the boat’s crew. The dashboard is a one-off, given the original material taken from sails, a detail that conveys the synergy with the racing world on the water.

The evocative images of the Balocco tests come just a few hours ahead of an event much awaited by all sailing enthusiasts: the Preliminary Regatta Sardinia kicks off tomorrow – to run through May 24 –at the magnificent Golfo degli Angeli in Cagliari, to officially mark the beginning of the run-up to the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa will be on display at the Luna Rossa base in Cagliari during the adrenaline-pumping Sardinian event; for the Italian team, it represents the first opportunity to measure up against its opponents as part of the preparations for Naples 2027.
