2017 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE NOW MORE AFFORDABLE THAN EVER

• World's most awarded SUV now available with savings of up to €14,000
• Premium 4x4 features a raft of enhancements to strengthen its appeal

Jeep Ireland has announced details for the updated 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee - the world's most awarded SUV.

The luxuriously appointed and supremely capable 4x4 is now available at Jeep dealers nationwide, starting from €70,950.

To ensure the Jeep Grand Cherokee remains at the forefront of the premium SUV sector, the range now benefits from a raft of styling, engineering and technological enhancements.

"The fact the Jeep Grand Cherokee has won more awards than any other SUV in history speaks volumes for its quality, all-round ability and sheer appeal," says Paul Hunt, Managing Director, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Ireland. "The latest enhancements, additions and upgrades have made the model even better and even more appealing."

The latest Grand Cherokee benefits from a raft of enhancements and now has a new Start&Stop function and electric power steering which helps to achieve a 14 gram reduction in CO2 (to 184g/km), compared with the previous model year. Fuel economy has also been improved to 40.4 mpg on diesel versions.

Unlike conventional power steering, the new electric power steering system, with selectable driving modes, does not draw power from the engine and, with a resultant reduction in fluid weight, fuel savings are made, in conjunction with the new Stop&Start function.

Designed to enhance Grand Cherokee's striking design, the new model's bold styling includes a range of new exterior colours: Velvet Red, Redline and Ivory Tri-Coat, while acoustic glass improves the cabin experience.

Inside, a new, more substantial premium gear lever replaces the previous aircraft-style e-shift, and a new, revised centre stack includes Sport and Stop&Start buttons. The electric power steering with selectable drive modes (Sport, Comfort or Normal) is introduced along with safety features such as a ‘Stop' function up to 7mph on the Rear Park Assist.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee starts at €70,950 for the Limited 3.0L V6 CRD 250hp, a reduction of over €9,000. Key standard equipment includes 20" alloy wheels and Bi-Xenon headlights as well as luxurious touches such as black leather trimmed upholstery and a Uconnect 8.4inch smart-touch navigation system.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 3.0L V6 CRD 250hp now costs just €76,850, a saving of over €13,000. It features great 4x4 capability, class-defining technology, and carries prestigious enhancements of comfort including leather trimmed upper dash and ‘Nappa' leather trimmed upholstery plus a CommandViewTM panoramic sunroof.

The Grand Cherokee Summit 3.0L V6 CRD 250hp is now €82,450, a saving of over €14,000. It features the comprehensive Jeep experience with a host of inviting features including ‘Natura Plus' leather trimmed upholstery with ventilated front seats, Harmon Kardon® premium audio system and safety features such as forward collision warning plus and blind spot and cross path detection.

The range-topping Grand Cherokee SRT delivers everything you would expect from a high performance SUV and is now priced at €109,950, a saving of over €10,000. It features a 6.4-litre V8 HEMI engine delivering 468hp plus 20-inch ‘Black Vapour' SRT alloy wheels with high performance Pirelli tyres and a Quadra-tracTM active on-demand 4WD system.
