The project to build the future hospital on the Grand Paris Nord Campus Hospitalo-University Campus reaches a new stage with the signing of the promise to sell the PSA site in Saint-Ouen

The project to build the future hospital on the Grand Paris Nord Campus Hospitalo-University Campus reaches a new stage with the signing of the promise to sell the PSA site in Saint-Ouen
  • The acquisition of the PSA site in Saint-Ouen by AP-HP, scheduled for November 2021, will enable the implementation of a project of general interest
  • All employees were able to benefit from internal or external mobility
  • Industrial activities were transferred to Groupe PSA other french mechanical engineering plants

In accordance with the agreement reached on May 2, 2019, the Groupe PSA site in Saint-Ouen (93, France) will be sold to Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP). The sale agreement was signed on Tuesday 15 December 2020. Xavier CHEREAU, Director of Human Resources and Transformation of Groupe PSA, said: "We are delighted that our site of Saint-Ouen can be used for a project of public interest, like the future Grand Paris Nord University Hospital, while contributing to the search for real estate efficiency undertaken by PSA. This is the second facility in the Group's history to be used for the construction of a hospital center*".

The signing of this promise to sell marks an important step in the construction project for the new hospital. It is very good news for the entire hospital community, patients and healthcare partners. The project is moving forward. We are in the project analysis phase (notices, plans, films, models) of the architectural competition, which involves 220 professionals from the Bichat - Claude-Bernard and Beaujon hospitals, as well as experts, representatives of users, local authorities, the Paris fire service and the University of Paris. We should know in March 2021 the group of architects selected to build the new hospital." explains Martin Hirsch, general director of the AP-HP.

Shared with the social partners of Groupe PSA in 2018, this project had given rise to a specific agreement - based on voluntary work - to support the Group's employees working on this site. Two years later, at the time of the sale, all employees were able to benefit either from mobility to another Group site (Poissy in the vast majority), or from external mobility to other major companies in the region, or from schemes such as retirement or senior leave. Several employees were also recruited by AP-HP.

The Grand Paris-Nord University Hospital Campus, recognised as a project of general interest by Prefectorial Decree of 7 June 2019, will bring together, on a single site in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, a hospital structure that will house the medical-surgical activities of the Bichat AP-HP (Paris 18th) and Beaujon AP-HP (Clichy) hospitals and a university structure bringing together the teaching and research activities in medicine and oral medicine of the University of Paris, for the whole of the Ile-de-France region.

*Part of the CITROEN site on the Quai de Javel (Paris 15th) is now occupied by the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital - AP-HP.
