PSA Peugeot Citroën and Ecole des MINES ParisTech inaugurate the PSA Peugeot Citroën Chair in Robotics and Virtual Reality
Philippe Varin, Chairman of the Managing Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën and Benoît Legait, Director of MINES ParisTech, inaugurated the PSA Peugeot Citroën Chair in Robotics and Virtual Reality today in Paris.
The academic chair’s objectives are to develop research, training and internships in the areas of robotics, automation, image recognition, artificial intelligence and virtual reality techniques.
PSA Peugeot Citroën and MINES ParisTech, who have collaborated for twenty years on research into virtual reality, automation and robotics, decided to seal their partnership this year by creating the PSA Peugeot Citroën Chair in Robotics and Virtual Reality.
With this move, the partners also hope to help:
- Expand knowledge on robotics and virtual reality, notably as concerns humanrobot interactions and the issue of immersive virtual environments.
- Disseminate knowledge on new technologies related to robotics and virtual reality among PSA Peugeot Citroën employees and MINES ParisTech students.
- Disseminate theories and experiment results among manufacturers and, more broadly, to the public through international publications.
