Protocol on the prevention and suppression of marital violence
Xavier Darcos, France’s Minister of Employment, Social Relations, Family Solidarity and Urban Affairs, and Denis Martin, Executive Vice-President, Human Resources, at PSA Peugeot Citroën have signed a protocol on the prevention and suppression of marital violence.
This protocol, which seeks to encourage partnerships between public entities and business, marks a new step forward in the Group’s approach to corporate social responsibility. It is a natural extension of the chapter on marital violence, which was included in the agreement on the employment of women and gender equality, on its renewal in November 2007.
The Group believes that the company has a special role to play in promoting social awareness of the issue of marital violence. Through the protocol, the Group agrees to:
- inform employees on national campaigns to prevent and suppress marital violence;
- educate and train professionals from the company’s HR departments, and social/medical departments to deal with situations of marital violence;
- welcome,listen to and guide victims of marital violence.
This commitment reflects PSA Peugeot Citroën’s efforts to build on a responsible development approach, and to promote across all Group entities the key principles of human rights, equal opportunities, diversity, gender equality, safety in the workplace, and the prevention of psychosocial risks.
