Thanks to the success of the Peugeot 2008, the Mulhouse plant increases production

The management of the Mulhouse plant announced today, at an extraordinary Works Committee meeting, a new increase in production of the Peugeot 2008 urban crossover.Two months after the public launch, the Peugeot 2008 has been very well received, with close to 26 000 order in Europe, of which more than 12 000 in France, 3 000 in Italy and 3 000 In Germany. Furthermore, there is a high level model mix for 2008, with 73 % of orders being for trim levels 3 and 4, illustrating well Peugeot’s move up-market. From 2 September, the production at Mulhouse of Peugeot 2008 will increase from the current 310 vehicles per day to 520 vehicles per day by mid-September, then to 615 vehicles per day by mid-October 2013. Following the announcement on 27 May of the introduction of a ½ shift and the creation of about a hundred jobs at the site, this new increase in production involves the introduction of a full shift for production system 2 amounting to around 200 additional people. The recruitment of personnel needed for this increase in production will be primarily by the transfer of personnel from the Aulnay and Rennes sites and depending on the number of transfers, among temporary workers at Mulhouse.Also as a response to the success of the Peugeot 2008, the Mulhouse plant has announced that there will be 12 additional working days between now and the end of the year.Press contacts
