PEUGEOT, a key player in the C02 emissions reduction efforts of the 2020 Roland-Garros tournament

For its 37th year of partnership with Roland-Garros, PEUGEOT is once again at the heart of the tournament, which will take place in Paris from 27 September to 11 October, four months later than in other years given the health situation. Much like every year, the brand will be the official transport provider for players, VIPs and officials. This year, 80% of this dedicated PEUGEOT fleet is made up of electrified vehicles (plug-in hybrid and electric), a further push towards the energy transition which will reduce CO2 emissions by 60% compared to Roland-Garros 2019. For this edition, PEUGEOT will be unveiling an international communication plan, mainly headed by Novak Djokovic, the world's leading player in the ATP rankings and brand ambassador.

PEUGEOT, a key player in the C02 emissions reduction efforts of the 2020 Roland-Garros tournament

A dedicated environmentally-responsible fleet for a 2020 edition with a low carbon impact

With a fleet of 178 mainly plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, PEUGEOT is offering low C02 emission mobility. PEUGEOT is reducing its C02 emissions by more than 60% compared to the 2019 Roland-Garros.

The brand is proud to contribute to this energy transition by being the eco-responsible mobility partner of this tournament.

The fleet is made up of 80% electrified vehicles, including mainly the PEUGEOT 508 and 508 SW HYBRID, 3008 HYBRID4, e-2008 and e-Traveller.

With the new PEUGEOT 3008 HYBRID4 and 508 HYBRID, PEUGEOT is resolutely committed to a serene energy transition with ever stronger sensations.

With the new SUV PEUGEOT 3008 GT HYBRID4, the SUV PEUGEOT 3008’s success story is stepping things up to a whole new level. It offers power never before achieved by a standard PEUGEOT. This top-of-the-range version has been approved according to the new WLTP protocol at 29g(1) of C02/km (1.3l/100km) and 59 km(2) range in 100% electric mode and offers 4-wheel drive and generates the equivalent of 300hp (or 220kW).

As for the PEUGEOT 508 and 508 SW HYBRID, the brand is offering a new PLUG-IN HYBRID engine with power equivalent to 225hp/165kW with C02 emissions at the best level on the hybrid market.

The PEUGEOT 508 HYBRID is certified at 29g of C02/km (1.3L /100km) and a range of 54 km in 100% electric mode. The PEUGEOT 508 SW HYBRID is certified at 30g of C02/km (1.3L /100km) and a range of 52 km in 100% electric mode.

The new PEUGEOT e-2008 gives you the freedom to choose between 3 types of engine: electric, petrol and diesel, with the electric version also offering distinctive styling features.

Since electric can be magical, this first PEUGEOT electric SUV opens up a new world of sensations. Powered by its 100% electric engine, the driver will enjoy a high level of panache, in absolute silence and no vibrations.

The PEUGEOT e-Traveller, with its 100% electric engine, is mobility’s best friend when it comes to business and personal travel.

Available in multiple configurations suitable for passenger transport, with an elegant style, without compromising on performance and capable of accessing the city centre with traffic restrictions, the new PEUGEOT e-Traveller showcases a high-end, technological interior atmosphere.

All the vehicles in the fleet have been branded with a PEUGEOT logo, a Roland Garros logo and the words 'Official Car'. They also emphasise the brand's energy transition by displaying a 'Move to electric' sticker on the bonnet.

A PEUGEOT podium at the centre of the organisation

There is a podium specific to the brand at Roland-Garros, highlighting the new PEUGEOT e-208.

The energy transition is a real opportunity, which is why the new PEUGEOT 208 can come in three possible engine options: electric, petrol or diesel.

The new PEUGEOT e-208 is recognisable at first glance with its distinctive external markers:

  • a grille in the same colour as the bodywork,
  • Dichroic Lions (a process that changes colour depending on what angle you’re looking from),
  • a monogram "e-208" on the rear and the letter "e" on the rear wings.

The success of this new PEUGEOT e-208 is undeniable, with one PEUGEOT 208 sold out of 5 being an e-208.

An international communication plan dedicated to the partnership and headed by Novak Djokovic

During the tournament, an international media plan will be deployed with Novak Djokovic as the main protagonist. He is the main actor in the TV plan and of the PEUGEOT France competition, giving you a chance to win tickets for Roland-Garros.

He can also be found on all the banners of the rolandgarros.com website alongside the PEUGEOT e-208.

Three 30-second films on the brand's hybrid and electric technologies once again feature Novak Djokovic. He is of course the ambassador of the brand and its energy transition across its social network pages, where you'll mainly find him on Facebook and Instagram.

A special edition dedicated to the mobilisation of caregivers and set against the backdrop of health safety

For this 2020 tournament, and given the current context of the Coronavirus epidemic, PEUGEOT wanted to thank the carers for their mobilisation and to treat their children through the association “La voix de nos soignants” (“Our caregivers’ voice”).

To this end, there will be 2-day spots available for the tournament. A child and his/her companion will experience the great joy of attending the matches on the magnificent Philippe Chatrier Court.

These invitations will help to reconcile the shared emotion of the most beautiful clay court tournament in the world with the strict and responsible adherence to health protection rules.

The French Tennis Federation has in fact taken a series of measures regarding public access, as well as the players and their entourage. It has therefore restricted the number of spectators.
