LE MARQUIER, creator of top-of-the-range planchas near Bayonne in southwest France, has called in the expertise of PEUGEOT Design Lab to design its Allure planchas in accordance with its industrial equipment to take advantage of its high-quality manufacturing methods. The designers at the studio came up with a convivial, ergonomic and elegant plancha with a subtle Basque identity in its curvaceous lines. Its design was specially studied to allow it to be manufactured using Le Marquier’s existing facilities. The Allure planchas, available in electric or gas versions, are sold on the lemarquier.com website and via Maison LE MARQUIER extensive retail network.

Bourbon Mobility, leader in offshore personel transport, proposes services inspired by the aviation industry for its customers. Future cabins will be developed in a range of 3 levels of comfort: “Business Class”, “Premium” and “Eco”. Bourbon Mobility called on the expertise of the PEUGEOT Design Lab for the design of the new cabins. Designers created a cabin layout that guarantees optimal safety, “VIP” comfort seats and ergonomic storage. The first “Business Class” cabin will be operational in mid-2020.

The LATITUDE 46 shipyard has called on PEUGEOT Design Lab and architect Michele Molino to lend a neo-classical design to their new high-end sailing boat. The designers at PEUGEOT Design Lab co-designed the bridge layout. The onboard space, designed for solo and crew sailing, facilitates the movement of skippers. The ergonomic design of the cockpit is ideal for helming the boat. The Tofinou 9.7, measuring 9.75 metres long, was created for daily sea trips. Two first sailing boats will be delivered in La Rochelle in June 2019.

Véronique Gillardeau, co-director of the prestigious Gillardeau oyster farm, is offering her customers an electrically-assisted tricycle to hire for picnicking on the Île de Ré. Following the success of her “Marcelle” food trucks, created by PEUGEOT Design Lab, she called upon the studio once again to design her “bistro bike”. PEUGEOT’s designers equipped it with an ingenious folding table for customers to enjoy their oysters on, as well as an integrated refrigerator to keep them cool. Christened “Le Petit Gégé”, the tricycle is currently operating in Saint-Martin-de-Ré.

Arnault Gournac will be appointed Director of PEUGEOT Design Lab, effective May 2nd 2019. The Global Brand Design studio provides services to external customers, outside the automotive sector, and oversees the PEUGEOT Cycles brand and the PEUGEOT lifestyle products. Arnault Gournac will report to Thierry Lonziano, Director of PEUGEOT Marketing & Communications and to Gilles Vidal, Director of PEUGEOT Design.

PEUGEOT will once again be present at the Milan Design Week, the leading annual international event dedicated to the world of design. PEUGEOT DESIGN LAB has created an immersive light and sound show that plunges the visitor into a unique artistic experience that projects PEUGEOT’s electric transition. At the heart of this show is PEUGEOT’s monumental brand ambassador. The 5m tall Lion sculpture is flanked by a pride of his 40 life size “little brothers”. The new PEUGEOT 208 & e-208 will also be guests of honour at this year’s Milan Design Week, along with the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND CONCEPT, and a selection of PEUGEOT Cycles electric bicycles. Milan Design Week will take place from 8th to 14th April in the famous "Zone Tortona".

The Sea Drive Concept, designed by the PEUGEOT Design Lab for BENETEAU, received this award from the French Institute of Design during the ceremony held on 17 December at the Quai d’Orsay in Paris. The jury appreciated the ergonomics and streamlined look of this nautical dashboard, inspired by the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, as well as its Ship Control® connected technology developed by BENETEAU. It also recognised the cooperation between automotive and nautical designers to create a concept that undoubtedly represents the future of nautical dashboards.

Bombardier Transportation partners with Peugeot Design Lab to reposition and develop a worldwide product branding strategy
Bombardier Transportation, a global leader in rail technology, turns to the expertise of PEUGEOT’s Global Brand Design studio in order to redefine its brand positioning and improve its brand recognition. Together, the teams have created a new product design signature for Bombardier Transportation. This new product identity will be revealed at the international InnoTrans exhibition for Transport Technology in Berlin (Germany) from 18 to 21 September.

The Global Brand Design studio of the PEUGEOT brand, based in Vélizy (France) is dedicated to the creation of non-automotive projects. Over the last five years, the studio has worked on more than 60 projects, including the iconic H160 helicopter designed for Airbus, the PEUGEOT concept food truck and the newly launched Alstom tramway for the city of Strasbourg. A wide range of international clients from many different sectors have accessed the design and industrial expertise of the studio. Intended as a design studio for internal and external clients, it oversees the PEUGEOT Cycles brand and PEUGEOT lifestyle products as well.

Since its inauguration on 28 April, the new Citadis tram line has linked downtown Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin, France) to the Kehl station in Germany. Alstom’s Design & Styling department teamed up with the designers from the Peugeot Design Lab to style this latest creation. The lines of this tramway emphasize the beauty of the city of Strasbourg and add a touch of modernity.

Awarded by a jury of 39 international experts, this trophy, awarded to PEUGEOT and MICRO, is a benchmark in the world of product design. The PEUGEOT MICRO e-Kick electrically assisted scooter has been awarded the prize for its high-end design and the solution that it provides in meeting sustainable urban mobility challenges. The prize will be awarded on 3 July in Essen, Germany.

Véronique Gillardeau was extremely impressed by the design of the Peugeot ‘Le Bistrot du Lion’ Foodtruck. Co-director of the company, she wanted to offer tasting sessions in town centres. At her request, Peugeot Design Lab designed an innovative travelling oyster bar. Equipped with a counter top and bar which slides out from the rear of a new Peugeot Expert, the Gillardeau food truck allows the oyster shucker to share the same space as their customers, creating a more personal experience than a standard food truck. Christened ‘La Marcelle’ in homage to the daughter of Gillardeau’s founder, the food truck has been on display since the 8th March near the island of Oléron in France.

Peugeot Design Lab, a global brand design studio, and Expliseat, specialising in ultra-light aircraft seats for passengers, have teamed up to design a new generation of seats: the Titanium Seat NEO. Peugeot Design Lab has coordinated a team of automobile experts to create this seat with the highest level of comfort, ergonomics and perceived quality. It will be unveiled on 5th April 2016 at the "Aircraft Interiors Expo" trade show in Hamburg.

Airbus Helicopters is presenting its new civil helicopter, the H160, at the Dubai Airshow from 8 to 12 November. Peugeot Design Lab drew up the initial plans for the helicopter’s loft lines design, which were then adapted, developed and finalised by the in-house design team at Airbus Helicopters. The sleek, dynamic lines of the H160 represent a new aesthetic for the helicopters in the product range, reflecting the generational leap embodied by the model.

At the Janus presentation ceremony held on 30 June at the Quai d’Orsay, the Institut Français du Design (French Institute of Design) made two Janus awards to the PEUGEOT global brand design studio, the Peugeot Design Lab: the revolutionary Peugeot Design Lab for Pleyel piano received the Janus du patrimoine et de l’innovation (Heritage and Innovation Janus) and the PEUGEOT AE21 HYbrid Bike electrically assisted bicycle received the Janus de l’industrie (Industry Janus).

Milan Design Week 2015: Premiere of the ONYX lighting projects & presentation of the Peugeot Foodtruck
Following on from their inaugural visit in 2014, Peugeot is returning to the Zona Tortona from April 14-19 for the 2015 Milan Design Week. Exhibiting 650m2 space at 31 Via Tortona, the Global Brand Design studio Peugeot Design Lab will be premiering a new range of ONYX lighting products. Fresh from its April 2nd launch in Paris the PEUGEOT Footruck will also be on display before it moves to join the French Pavilion for the 2015 Milan Universal Exposition.

PEUGEOT unveiled its take on the food truck on 2 April, at a special preview hosted by popular Paris event venue Le Carreau du Temple. The vehicle combines innovative new experiences to deliver high-quality food on the go. The PEUGEOT Foodtruck was dreamt up and designed by Peugeot Design Lab, the carmaker’s Global Brand Design studio, and dubbed Le Bistrot du Lion. The new restaurant on wheels will take up residence at Milan Design Week 2015 on 14 April, before heading to the French Pavilion at the 2015 World’s Fair, Expo Milano, where the theme will be “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.”
